Good day everyone! Just bought my new-to-me 2007 SR 290SLX two weeks ago, and being fairly new to boating (one year experience) I am fascinated but cautious about venturing from Seaford to Liberty Island. Anybody out there that will be doing something similar that I can learn from/follow/ask questions?

Thank you in advance and I am really happy about finding this great forum!

I just did this trip. I stayed one day in Jersey City and than headed up to Croton on the Hudson for two nights. Not sure if you are looking to do a day trip or overnight. Either way pick your day for calm seas. You can go out Jones or East Rockaway inlet. I like to go in Rockaway inlet and pass by Coney Island. You can bypass this by going past Rockaway and cutting down to the Verazzano bridge. The trip takes a few hours and it can get rough in the ocean and New York harbor.

Hi Alex,

I’ve never done this trip but plan to before this season is over. My wife has wanted to go to the Statue of Liberty for a few years and since this is our first year with the 360DA I told her I would take her. We keep our boat in Lindenhurst and would be happy to let you know when we plan a day. Feel free to PM me.

If your wife wants to go up to the crown of The Statue of Liberty, you will need to make a reservation this winter for next summer. I believe they sell out by some time in March. We did that trip a few years back from out of Patchogue. It was a cool trip. We stayed at Liberty Landing and you can catch the ferry to the statue & Ellis island from right there in Liberty park!
