I found a quiet cove along the ICW about .3 miles south of Atlantic Ave. on the East Side of the ICW. I have anchored there several times. I will be there tomorrow in the late afternoon and will be there into the early evening, weather permitting. My boat's name is "Sea - Nile" and will be flying the Club Sea Ray Burgee from the bow. Feel free to drop anchor and say hello.

This is a quiet cove away from the madness of Lake Boca or Peanut Island. We like to launch a couple of rafts and just drift around the stern of the boat...very relaxing.

We’re up around the Stuart sandbar. Ultimatum if anyone is around.

Wish I could join you guys but we are just hanging around the dock and proably taking the dingy for a cruise. Wifey hates going out on these big holidays with all the idiots in our area makes the New River a little fun to navigate. Being as the beaches and sandbars are closed everyone is on someones boat cruising around going to be crazy busy. Was planning to to go Hollywood and rent a slip to watch the fireworks but our government shut that down too so no reason to leave the dock. I will just keep prepping for the Bimini trip in 2 weeks. Have to help my friend in his new 46 run some wires and fix some things so he is ready also. You guys should come to Bimini!!!! We are leaving Friday morning the 17th and returning Monday the 20th.

I'll be out searching for a nice tranquil beach this afternoon. Was hoping to do some fire works watching and so on; don't think that's gonna happen. So far this boating season has pretty much sucked.

I was out yesterday and it was nice - recently have started passing on the lake for July 4th - LKN is just too crowded on the 4th, this year is sure to be worse. It seems an afternoon thunderstorm always adds to the meyhem - may be back out tomorrow.

It's amateur weekend here, like other holidays. The Billy Ray Bobs are good and liquored up by afternoon and are running wild on the water.

Not worth it.

Gunner, I assume this is it? If we make it that far north in the dingy we will definately stop by.

I can’t tell by the picture. The cove is south of where the new Delray Beach Marina is being constructed.

no worries, turned out to be a wash out and ended up going back home this afternoon as the storms moved in.

My invited guests (brother in law and his girlfriend) arrived at my boat about an hour late. We got lucky in that the Atlantic Ave Bridge was opening just as we reached it and we were on the hook at this little cove at about 4 PM. Later than I was expecting to be there but at least we were there. Weather was perfect until about 6 PM when it started to get nasty a little south. I watched the rain moving and at first thought it would remain south of us but I checked my radar app on the cell phone and cranked up the radar on the boat and watched the cells growing bigger and moving to the NE. Time to retrieve the hook, and head back north. Made it back to the Atlantic Ave bridge just as it was opening (very rare and even rarer twice in the same day) and pushed the throttles up to make it make it back to my slip before the first gust of wind from the thunderstorm blew in. Had the spring lines set and was setting the bow lines when the skies opened up. Finished setting the stern lines and the shore power cable just as the lightening flashed and the thunder shook the area. We caught a break as the first cell passed. Quickly toweled off the inside of the boat and got the canvas on and zipped/snapped up. We settled into a happy hour in the cockpit as the rain came in a second wave which must have dropped the temperature by about 10 degrees. After cocktails we adjourned to the air-conditioned main saloon / galley for dinner. By 9 pm the boat interior was as clean as it was going to be for the night. Our guests departed and we managed to walk from our slip to the parking garage in a very slight drizzle. As soon as he got outside for the drive home, the skies opened up once again. The streets sounded like a war zone with all the fireworks being shot off. If my dog were here, she would have been freaking out. Tomorrow is another day in this Covid 19 world just like the day before and the day before that. We'll do a few thing around the house such as moving the patio furniture away from the walls of the house as the house is being pressured cleaned on Monday morning in preparation for painting...doesn't really need it but the HOA loves spending money. Back to the boat after that to wash it down and clean the inside in what seems like a never ending battle to keep it clean. Not complaining as we love the boat and enjoy every minute on it whether it be cruising or working on it.

We took a chance and made last minute plans to do a bay cruise, stopped in Tiburon for lunch with Freinds from Corinthian Yacht Club then found an open slip at South beach harbor for the night. We assumed all fireworks shows would be cancelled since SF is basically shut down due to the resurgence of the zombie apocalypse... I mean Covid 19
To my amazement the fireworks started going off at about 7:30. At about 9:30 the South Bay from Oakland to South SF seemed to be non stop like a two hour long finale, it was quite amazing.
After the first hour I actually began getting bored, and then even annoyed. As I pondered the show I couldn’t help but wonder if the people enjoying the fireworks even know what they actually mean and represent. Given that I live in the epicenter of the population base that according to recent events hates everything that America was founded upon, it seems celebrating the very birth of such a republic would be repulsive to any of them if they were intellectually honest. I conclude however, that most of the Libratards that make up the voting public are just easily distracted by shiny things and need to be titillated and entertained to keep them from pondering the truths. By all accounts it’s working here in Ca anyway. I am 4 years from being able to unplug and divest myself of my beloved state that has sadly become a human cesspool. I’ll return from time to time to enjoy the areas that good people have been able to preserve but I will be so happy to not call it home anymore. I’ll take up residence in a Red State where my vote has a chance of being counted and make a real difference. Until then..... Carpe Diem

LOL... I had to leave So-Cal back in 2012... Got out just before the exit tax. Don’t miss it one bit except our trips to Catalina. So-Flo living is great...
