Keep Track of Rising Prices

Things is bad in Britain too, they tell their peons to work more hours if they want to eat....and because tomatoes, cucumbers are in sort supply the peons should 'cherish' turnips.

Speaking of turnips...about 115 years ago my grandmother left Europe because about all she had to eat was turnips, better than nothing I suppose but folks was starving.
If you have Amazon Prime and haven’t seen Clarckson’s Farm, watch it. It’s an entertaining series, but the 2nd season will piss you off. All the bureaucracy he has to go through just to farm, and open a restaurant on his own land is ridiculous. It’s almost as if Government wants you to starve.

I would submit it's more that the gummit wants to be in control and have you to rely on them for everything.

Watch what’s happening in the lending markets. Sub prime auto loans specifically which is most of the lending. See line of lenders going under. See frequency of auto loan payment delinquencies spiking.

Then look at how quiet the tech layoffs have been.

Shit going down.

Does everything work on it? My Yukon Denali will be a year old next month and I'm still waiting on chips to get some sensors working.
All works except the dreaded auto stop/start - which I didn't want anyway! Got a $50 credit for not having it!

You might want to check your owners manual. Pretty sure it specs premium.
Tim- it does spec 93 octane, but says you may use as low as 87 if there is no knocking.

Dealer recommends regular and I'm not getting any pinging...

Im sure many “peons” are already skipping breakfast. Prices on eggs are bullshit. Peons have no choice but to eat sparsely.

I don’t want to hear rich fat old white guys complain about how much their slip rates went up or how much they were quoted for a fucking tune up and oil change. o_O
Price for tuning up a Porsche is up to $510.

Do you have an example?

We can't be bothered with data, @Blueone

I had a 2011 Sierra with the 6.2L, sticker said "premium only" or the dreaded E85. For entertainment I spent a summer screwing around with E85, regular and premium. Kept track of miles driven, gallons burned, cost per gallon, all of it. And since I live in a neighborhood with similarly unusual people I had a neighbor that was doing the same thing, same engine, though he was more highway, I was more city. I don't recall exactly but I think we agreed upon a 3 tank minimum before we would switch fuels.

We both ended up in the same place after several months - regular saves you nothing over premium based on the mileage hit you take with regular. Neither of us noticed any difference in the way they ran on regular.

E85 was going to save us both a couple hundred dolleros annually but neither of us could stand the way the trucks drove with E85 in the tank. Total garbage.

So we both went back to premium and never looked back. It's what I run in my 2019 Sierra currently, same engine.

For the record...this kind of thing is what super exciting people that live in HOA's come up with to pass the time, I just want to get that out there. You guys are out building hot rods with your neighbors, comparing recipes for your magic green eggs or smokers, burning stuff illegally in the backyard. We're off comparing eXcel prowess...vlookups....sweet new charts and graphs...bit$hing about that one neighbor that waters every other day instead of every day in August.
:)

Do you have an example?
I don't have a link off hand but one of the GM performance sites did a real world comparison and the 6.2l got 7.something % better gas mileage with 93 over 87. Not enough to justify on pure dollars and cents but you are relying on the computer to pull timing out to eliminate pre-detonation. With all the soundproofing in these new trucks, I doubt you will actually hear spark knock even it it happens. Personally, I'm putting 93 in mine.

Vlookups Bah! Xlookups are the way to go! And have you worked with "dynamic arrays" yet?

You are looking at a 20% increase in gas mileage to break even on premium….. I don’t think that will happen….. they told me to use premium in my last Lexus….. I said the hell with that and put 230k miles on it with zero problems using regular

Good thing I actually tried it :) 13mpg to 15.5mpg, sounds about right. I don't recall if the spread on regular/premium was the same in 2015 +/-. But as I shared I actually did it and it was enough to convince me to stick with premium.

Your mileage may vary...quite literally.

Hmmm, the 04 Expedition took 87, usually it’s right inside the fuel door, aka the 06 Jag, PREMIUM UNLEADED FUEL ONLY. Just picking.
Jon
Edit, just red all the posts, Jag runs horrible on anything less than 91, pings blah blah blah, Volvo OM says recommended to run 91 for full performance, I run 89, Lincoln could care less, 87 all the way.

The '18 Mustang Ecoboost four-banger says it'll run fine on 87 octane, but all of the performance guys say to run 92 or higher. All I can (easily) get around here is 91. On the day I was heading to the gas station, it started this almost imperceptible "rattle-quiet-rattle-quiet" from under the hood, with an accompanying surging as I was merging onto the freeway. Instant panic ensues, as these little engines have a bit of a history of ventilating the blocks. Filled it with the more-expensive 91 octane. After running for a short bit, no more rattling, the fuel mileage went up enough to offset the increase in cost, and the car is much more responsive. Yes, I do track fuel mileage and cost-per-mile, so it's not just perceived.
