Kidde Fire Extinguisher Recall, Sent Red To Replace Marine White.

I purposely purchased white marine FE over the years at additional cost because I prefer the look. I called in to get replacements and expected like for what I had. They sent red 2 lbs units for replacement including for the 3 lbs units I have. Does not seem right to me, does it to you? Anyone had this issue with their recall? Did you get anywhere with it?

I'd call 'em back... I had an issue getting mine so I called them and the CSR was super helpful.
 
Kidde replaced my two white FEs with two white.

The whole process was pretty painless. I snapped pics of the labels showing the model/serial numbers, called the 800 number, spent about ten minutes on the phone, two weeks later the new FEs arrive, I put the old FEs in the boxes and attached the included return label.

My experience was exactly the same... Only no phone call did it all on-line. The red sounds like a mistake I am sure they would fix it if you let them know
 
I did it online last year and still haven’t heard from them.
 
I had two of the small USCG B-I class units, rated 1-A;10-BC white marine extinguishers swapped in the program, and the new ones they sent were white, I think they call the model Mariner 110. They have 2.5lbs of dry chemical. I also have a larger B-II class extinguisher on board, rated 3A;40BC, but it had the metal head already, and wasn't part of the recall. It's a red one, don't know if they make a white version, the model is called a PRO PLUS 5 MP. It has 5.5lbs dry chemical. This reminds me I need to get the automatic engine room system checked over the winter.

Submitted the info online a year or so ago and never heard anything back.

Update: Just got off of the phone. Turns out I submitted for 2 replacements on the very first day. Customer Service Rep was able to find it by my name and shipping address. She apologized and explained that lots of the early submissions “got stuck somehow” in their computer system and the replacements don’t get sent out until the consumer calls.
She’s was very helpful and is getting my two extinguishers out ASAP.
If anyone reading this submitted online and hasn’t received the replacement yet, try giving the number that LTD 330 posted above a call.

I submitted for them more than a year ago, then called them almost 2 months ago, and I still haven’t received the replacements.

Both the original red order and replacement white extinguisher order were delivered in less than 10 days. Both were initiated via phone call.

The original on the recall number and the second from customer service which is a different group. Get your order numbers together and call customer service from the web number being certain it is not the recall number, as I believe that is a recall contractor, not the company.

I called the number that LTD posted. Can you post the other one?

Received two white ones.
 
Just spoke to Kidde on the phone.
I first applied for the recall on 11/2/17. Then followed up on 10/6/18,
They have those records, and my reference number, but said the delay is because the third party company that was initially handling the recall back on 11/2/17 for them is no longer handling it.
Basically, if I didn’t call again today it would have continued to fall between the cracks even though I spoke with Kidde directly on 10/6/18.
Supposedly, a supervisor is going to handle it this time and will process it ASAP.
Hmmmmm..............that’s a lot like what they told me two months ago.
Not going to hold my breath.
Sounds to me like Kidde is kind of hoping that some people will give up trying to get replacements under the recall........
