Yesterday was a classic day for fall oil changes. Stiff breeze, 55 degrees, constant drizzle. It really sets the mood for some year-end maintenance.

I'm all set with oil changes now after an obligatory (unplanned) trip to West Marine to replace my "super cheap" oil exchange pump with a better unit. With oil changes out of the way I'm really just a good wash uptop, gas fill and pumpout away from being ready to store.

The forecast is making me want to call it quits this coming weekend. I've never been pulled out this early though...decisions, decisions.

I hear ya, the weather put me in the mind set that the season is going to be over in a blink of an eye.
I got the dink pulled out this past weekend. Upcoming weekend will be tarping up some patio furniture and the following weekend (Oct 12th), we head over to our winter storage place.

In full disclosure, I put the runabout and sea doos into storage yesterday.

We're holding out on the Sea Ray until the last possible moment.

What do you mean it was beautiful yesterday on Lake St. Clair. :D:D:D

I feel it coming also:(:(. All scheduled for 14th haulout.

Yeah...that picture is about right! A pretty miserable day. Although it was nice and warm standing between two blocks if iron heated to a toasty 170.

I'm still torn on this weekend. It surely feels like quitting. Although there are boats pulled and setup in our parking lot fully shrink wrapped already. So I'm far from the first one in!

We got an email from our marina on Saturday to let us know we could stay in an extra 2 weeks to Nov 15th (for an extra $500). My wife and I were seriously considering it.

If it was more reasonably priced I would jump on it.

Our new insurance policy says we have to have the boat hauled by Nov 1. The Admiral already wants to see if we can get that extended a week or two to make the season longer.

This past Saturday on the southern end of Lake Michigan. I'm out on the 15th.

firecadet, that is one very nice photo. Thanks for sharing it.

I'm blowing out my lines today, washing the boat tomorrow, putting up the isinglass Wednesday. That will do it for the winterization and we likely won't use the boat until the first weekend in December when the Lighted Boat Parade happens.

October 15th is it for me. Zodiac was pulled this past Saturday. Oil changed a couple of weekends ago. We have a day like yesterday (Sunday) here in West Mich., and I'm ready to pull. But today it's 80! Hard decisions, but we know the cold weather is coming.......

Took advantage of a calm day to change oil/filters, drain water etc. Told the crew to pull the boat - we're done for the year. It was a very short season for us. FYI it's supposed to be 57* here on Friday so probably a good decision.

Changed the oil in the Cats last weekend. Not pulling out until 10/29. Insurance says out by noon on 10/31.

Most of C dock is gone. Joe, Nir and others were packing up on Sunday.

We pulled out last Friday morning at Bay Harbor, Bay City, MI. Beautiful morning. Wish we had FL weather to boat all year!

Crazy talk! Been a wild ride in NC - one of the hottest Sept on record - a long stretch of days in the 90's. We are in the 90's all week this week. I don't winterize until Thanksgiving - and only then because the marina shuts down weekend operations on Dec 1 - Mar 1. Still plenty of decent days during our relatively mild NC winters.

Been hauled since first week of September only due to needing fiberglass work done and complete new canvas and I'm already going stir crazy usually last week of October I run till but on the other side I will now be ready for early early April!!
