We’re thinking the first cruise of the year will be Memorial Day weekend for us. Leave early Friday morning, cruise back sometime Monday.

We’re in Rochester and I’m undecided where to go. Heading to Cobourg, Wilson, and Toronto later in the year so not those. Been to Sodus many times. Anyone know Oswego? Haven’t stayed there and that’s an easy run for us.

It’ll be the wife and I, and our 1 year old. Just looking for somewhere to walk around, a couple reatataunts, nothing crazy. Would like to keep the trip around 2-2.5 hours each way.

How about Sackets Harbor? Great little town to walk around. My wife and i go there every year for a couple of days.

I was thinking of that as well, not too terribly far from Oswego so doesn’t add much time to the run. Where do you stay usually?

We bought our boat in Rochester in 2013 and stayed at Wright’s Landing Marina in Oswego on our way to Seneca Lake. It was a nice place to stay - we were only there overnight. In 2017 we attended Oswego Harborfest (although we stayed in our 5th wheel rv, not on our boat) and we really enjoyed Oswego, particularly a brew pub called “The Cellar Door”

If you haven’t been to Clayton, NY for a weekend you should check it out. Antique Wooden boat museum with about eight buildings including a large boathouse. Beautiful little town as we spent three days there when we did the Great Loop in 2015. Make sure you go to Bella’s for Breakfast, lunch or dinner as you will not be disappointed. Several other excellent restaurants there as well. Several marinas.

Next up just a little further East go tour Bolt Castle on Love Island, the Boathouse and if you want more Singer Castle. Both beautiful and you can tie up there as well unless something has changed.

Sorry guys for some reason the notifications didn’t work on this thread. I appreciate the advice, we’re not going to go all the way up to the st Lawrence until later in the year, so sackets is about as far as we’d like to go since it’s only a 3 night weekend.

Clayton and further up river is really awesome though. We’re going to do the alex Bay Area in July, also cross to Canada and hit some other spots while we’re there. That’s a 4-5+ hour run for us though so I want to do that when we have longer to stay.

Have you done "The Finger Lakes" south of Oswego"? https://www.fingerlakes.com/cayuga We did this trip several years ago. A few locks and the canal portion was very slow and uneventful because of speed zones, but we enjoyed our time on Cayuga Lake. We stayed at a few different full service marinas, enjoyed the wineries and stayed at the State Park Marina while we poked around Ithica a few days. Good marina at Oswego to hole up should the weather turn nasty out on Lake Ontario.
