Hey folks - Particularly those of you who have your boats in PacWest waters year round. Do you tend to leave your dehumidifiers on while you're away from the boat (on shore power)?

I'm in the midwest. During the week when I'm not at the boat, we leave the cabin HVAC on dehumidify mode and also run a small dehumidifier in the cockpit. We used to get build up on the underside of the bimini top but that's stopped since we started using the dehumidifier.

Here's a link to what we use.

Thanks. Good tip. Not sure if build up under the canvas is a problem enough for us, but I do have some mildew spots that I've cleaned off so maybe that's a good option. I worry a little bit that out in Seattle over winter that 2L reservoir would fill up daily. :)

Similar spots caused me to do it. They have different size units but I'm sure you can drill a hole in the tank and let it drain into a sink. I had it full when I arrived this evening - emptied it on Sunday.
