I currently own a 2014 Acadia and am wondering if I can use it to tell my 220 sundeck about 10 miles round-trip from a storage location to the launch location. I know I am at the max or at least near the max of the Acadia's capabilities but what are peoples opinions given the limited amount of towing distance I would be using it for.

Any opinions would be helpful!

Thanks!

If you are "at the max or at least near the max", and you have trailer breaks, you are likely OK. Vehicle manufactures will always rate towing on the safe side. Just make sure your ball mount and hitch are properly rated and you have sufficient tongue weight (10%-15% of the gross trailer weight).

IMHO

Isnt the Acadia front wheel drive and a v6? you may not be able to retrieve it from the water and may even have braking issues getting down the launch if its a steep ramp.

I have an 2009 Acadia that I purchased new. (AWD) Tow about 160 miles one way, never had a problem towing the 200 Sundeck, the trailer has breakes. In low there is still 1-6 on the right side of the shift lever. Plenty of power on the steep DNR ramp. The new 2017 has a lower GVW rating.

My old 240SD weighed 6200 on the trailer, and the 220 is only about 350 less, depending on how much fuel is on board. Maybe 500-600 tongue weight on the hitch, and you are dragging an honest 5400+.
As others have said, your biggest challenge may be on the ramp and braking. You can probably get away with towing it.
