Can you tell us all about the Trent system today, Went from Trenten to Lake Simco. My cousin and I did it in 1965 in a 16 foot cedar strip boat with a 10HP. We slept at the locks and on some islands. No tent and canned cold food. Been think of renting a boat and doing it again.

I'll be happy to share some info with you my own experience is limited to the severn portion abd i am going to get more from my mom and stepdad for you as thier experience is vast . They have been boatingtge area for decades on their trawler. He is a licenced captain and they have a business moving boats from here. They use the trent severn many times per year and just got back tonight from a delivery to NY with a boat bound for Europe on a ship.if you will pm me an e mail address ill be happy to put you in touch with them aswell as send you some links to great info on the area .
I'm sure you will be quite happy if you make the trip there are many more amenities presently and things to see every where along the way.
Kind regardscand looking forward to exchanging more information with you in the near future.

HT... I have been over the Big Chute a few times... We kept our boat at Driftwood Cove when we lived in Ontario. The Trent from Port Severn to Peterborough is some of the best boat scenery in the world and has some of my favorite places... A couple of them are Orillia and Bobcaygeon, well ....pretty much all the towns along the way.....Have fun up there.

There is a YouTube channel - BoatsBeachesandBars - a couple from Lake Simcoe. They have had several SeaRays, currently a 330da, their channel is all about their travels around Canada and working on their boats. Some great videos - never been there, but feel like a know the Trent Severn from watching their videos.
