Hello fellow CSR folks. At the recommendation of my friend Russ Calasant I am starting this thread to see who, from the surrounding area, want's to get together for a night of eating, drinking and boating BS-ing!! I thought it would be cool to get together with a few of the folks at this time as it tends to be the dead zone between seasons.I am thinking sometime in february but, not 2/11/12 because I may have plans already. I have spoken to Russ and a couple other guys about getting together in Port Jeff since I own a restaurant there and can throw out a nice little buffet or something to get us started. The Connecticuit guys can jump on the Bridgeport ferry and get dumped practically at the doorstep of my restaurant. You Jersey guys have a little more road negotiating to make it out here if you are so inclined. So who's up for a little winter get together?

Ok folks, so here's how it looks at present:

Tdschafer; Todd & Sherri
Cod; Steve & Kris
Dancin Dave; Dave & Lisa
Russ Calasant; Russ & Marybeth
Larry; Larry & Melina
Havana Shamrock; Joe & Martha
Rcmfgny; Ron & Wendy

Todd, i think this is a very cool thing to do for us and drown our winter blues""". Haha. I will be the first one to say yes, I'm coming.

Even though I'm a JET fan. Let's go Giants!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely! Count us in! Todd, let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Any weekend is good for us, can you recommend any places to stay? I think the preference would be to leave our vehicle in CT and take the ferry although I don't mind bringing it if it makes sense.
Cmon Alex, Greg, Brian, Ric! I know you guys want to come- jump in!

It was fun!

Now there's a motley looking crew! Notice the only one without a drink in his hand!

That's because he was so busy making sure none of us went thirsty!

We have a good start! So, The weekend of Feb 4th may not be best since Super Bowl Sunday is the 5th. As I stated I will probably be busy on the 11th and the wifes got some commitment on the 18th with her mum sooooo how's Feb. 25th? If need be , I can change my plans on the 11th if we have too many conflicts with the 25th. So to follow Dave's lead I'm P1 for the 25th & P2 for the 11th!!!

....I vote P1 for a Saturday.lol....

 I guess you like my spreadsheet, Dave?

....Lisa and I will hop on the Ferry.

Now that cheating....from Southern NJ traveler's point of view. We have to go all the way around. :smt101

We will defenately try to make it, Todd. I'm not sure yet, but Feb-11 might not work for me either.

We should be good for Feb 25th as well.

Russ,

I have stayed at Danfords in the past and it's pretty top notch but, it's also pricey. I can definitely say to avoid the Heritage Inn. That's where people go when they hook up at the bars to close the deal!! Pretty funny if you read the reviews!! Port Jeff also has some nice B&B's if you are into that. Many are within walking distance to the bars. Here is a link you can look at:
http://www.tripadvisor.com/LocalMaps-g48430-Port_Jefferson-Area.html

Let me know if I can be any help at this end!!

BTW: I don't think Manchester Suites is actually there. I am pretty familiar with the area and have never seen it. I think it is a mistake by the website.

I'm returning from Key West on the 25th. I have to check and see what time I land back in NY. What time are you thinking for this? I'd like to do this with all of you.

Made the reservation at Danfords, we have stayed there before- it's a great spot (with a bar) I forgot about them. Rates are off season and cheap, starting -at $119. We booked a king water view junior suite for $169.

Brian if your not too tired from your trip please join, I'm sure we will be going until late, ,it will be good to see you guys. Probably do a Bfast and lunch before heading back on Sunday, pending degree of hangover.

Just checked. I'm scheduled to land at LGA at 5:10, getting bags and golf clubs usually puts me at home an hour and a half later. So depending on the weather, the TSA, the FAA and the baggage handlers at LGA I will be joining you guys on the 25th either at Schaeffers or somewhere else along Main St. :smt038, really looking forward to it. BTW, Todd, one of my daughters tells me she's been to your bar in PJ quite a few times. Always comforting to know my kids learned something in all these years of boating....:smt018
