Long Island Area....

Long Island Here

Hello Don. I just got the tip on this board. Looks good. I see a lot of names from the old board here.

How long are you going to stay in this year? I'm hoping to get past Thanksgiving.

Rob

Rob.....glad you found this place....

I plan to leave her in again all winter.... but winterize around the first week-end in Dec.....unless we get real cold sooner...... I'll have everthing done except the motors. Then it only takes one day and Im finished.

Last season I didn't wrap her til Dec 17....

Are you staying in this winter....or you gunna pull her out ?

Hello guys,
Just found the site, after the old searay site closed down, I have been on Boatus but I prefer talking to searay owners.
 I have my boat in Great River behind a private home and spend many weekends over at Atlantique where do you guys boat?

Hey Steve........ Glad you found this place. We hang out on the great river....once and a while.... We love our little QUIET spot at Timber Point Marina. We go there to get away from the crowds. That whole area is great.

Watch Hill & Atlantique are also great spots....

Whats the name of your boat ?

Another good site for LI boaters is..... www. Boatered (dot ) com.....go to the LICC section under clubs. Lots of fun in there.

Keep in touch.................

Hey guys ,
Just found this site. Missed having a searay spot since we got tossed from the other place.

HEY DON ....

Look forward to some good posts

Lindenhurst

Hi All:
Am a relatively new boater, just 1 year under my belt with a 270DA. Just bought a 97 400DA and will be boating out of SS3 Marina in Lindenhurst. Anyone else here that boats out of that area? :smt101[/img]

Bright Ayes..... welcome to the site.

I also boat on the south shore......I'm out of Copiague. There a a few guys here from the s/s. Hope we can all get together this season for a raft up....or maybe a meet on Fire Island somewhere. I see your from Bayshore.....we take the boat to Molly Malones alot in the summer.....cool spot.

The 400 is a sweat boat......nice jump up from a 27'er...good luck with it.
who did you buy it from at SS3 ??
whats the name of your boat...?

Mark Walbrecker sold me both my boats at SS3. Of course, the 270 was sold to me just before the MM takeover but Mark did the right thing when I traded it back in for the 400 even though he got some flack from MM. Overall am happy with transaction but MM has already raised the slip rates for this year so I worked it out with Mark where I got a 20% discount for this season since I bought my new/used boat from him.
The name of my boat is "Bright Ayes". It is a nickname I gave my wife when we first met and it kind of stuck so it is only appropriate that I name the boat after her, although she is deathly afraid of the water. My wife that is, not the boat!
Anyway, that's my tale. I have only been boating for 1 year so I really am a Newbee in thr truest sense of the word. However, would love to hook up with you experienced guys over the summer so I can learn from you all. Look forward to it.

Mike............ Your a SS3 multi-purchase buyer too ?? I know Mark...he's a nice guy. I've bought 4 used boats from SS3... Brian Duncan....over the past 7/8 years ...before MM take over. My most recent is my 370DA that I purchased last December. The name of my boat is " Dog Daze ".
Have you put any hours on the 400DA since you bought it ?
How do you like it ?
Hopefully we'll hook up this season and have a few beers.............

Don --- So how do you like the 37DA? What did you have before that? I have logged in 0 hours. Take delivery for the 1st time on 3/31/07. Very inexperienced in boating but taking captains lessons (8 hours worth initially with this boat then some more after that). I love the 40. It is very roomy and I think it will be comfortable for me to handle after a bit of practice. I'm taking my time though. Don't drink beer, wine if anything, but would love to hook up with you and your wife/family this season. Name of our boat is
"Bright Ayes"

Mike ....so far ... we like the 37 DA the best. Before this ......we started with a 22'er ( other brand )...then a 280DA....a 310DA.....a 330DA....and now 370DA. Our next will be a 400DB sedan....we've been dreaming about one.

Don't worry March 31, will be here before you know it !!! I usually unwrap the boat mid march....and have it ready by the end of March. The season can't start to soon for us.

That will be great .......if we can all hook up this season.... there are a bunch of S/S guys in here.
Robski97....is another ......SS3 / MM guy ...with a 44DA.

See you out there..................

If you guys plan any trips to the Jersey side, let me know......

I'm planning a trip now to Liberty Landings and Red Bank (Molly Pitcher) in late August.....gonna spend a day in NYC roaming the streets on Canal Street, China Town and then eat a lunch in Litttle Italy....Also a few days in the downtown Red Bank district....

We also do at least two, some years three, trips to Atlantic City......

Dom........We would love to do a Atlantic City trip....... but not this year. When.....in August.....do you plan on going to Liberty Landing ??

WIth a little flotilla of boats that know where they are going and what they are doing, I would definitely be interested in heading over to Liberty Landings. Not sure about my wife though but by August she might feel pretty comfortable with me and the boat to go. Went to Liberty Landings in Sept for boat show, really nice place there.

Don:

Myself and two others are planning two nights in Red Bank and two nights in Liberty Landing. The dates are dependent on slip availability. I have been trying Molly Pitcher for two days without success. I know they have Very few transient slips, and the ones they have book early. We are shooting for 23 August through 27 August...which marina we hit first depends....

Dom......OK...... keep us posted on the dates that you may be at L/L....maybe it will work out.

How soon do you need to make reservations there ????

Don:

I am going to wait until I reserve at Molly Pitcher before I reserve at Liberty Landings. From what I understand, MP is tougher to get a transient slip than LL. I will continue to try MP over the next few days and as soon as I'm "in" at MP, I will call and reserve at LL....hopefully by the end of this week.

Hey Don,

I found my way in, I guess the site is having problems with AOL, I have to set up my profile and add some photos!

Can't wait for this weather to break!

Be safe
