Good luck. I have had good luck with the Skipper buds crew out of Winthrop harbor. They have a location in Volvo. You have to deal with them in person -- email and phone doesn't work well. And they ain't afraid to charge. But they have always diagnosed and fixed the problem.

I’m looking for a skilled engine tuner guy.

I want to have an electronic distributor vs my old points style distributor rather than just buying the Pertronix parts for the cap.

Need somewhere that will put boat in water to test the timing and tune is correct under load.

That should not be a big deal. A new diz should be a set it and forget it after base timing is set Now if your engine has other issues like low compression or in need of a tune or your carb is old and dirty, then that's a diff story. You should be able to take care of this on land for the most part. It's a simple engine to work on.

Might be tough to find this time of year. Most shops in Northern Illinois are now busy pulling and winterizing boats...

Maybe an independent guy might be available.
