Hi everyone,

Our first weekend on our "new" boat, a 2004 Sundancer 340, and we experienced something odd after we connected to shore power and prepared to go home at the end of the day. When we set the "AC Converter" to the "on" position, a faint high-low beep could be heard coming from under the dash. It would beep periodically, several times per minute. We checked everything we could and could not figure out the source. Powered down completely and disconnected shore power; went thru the whole process again and as soon as we turned on AC converter, it started up again.

When we lifted the engine compartment to look in there, the beeping became constant the whole time the compartment cover was opening and closing. Then the beeping returned to intermittent after it closed.

Is this a low voltage alarm or something like that? I can't find anywhere in the manual any listing of the alarms and their meaning. Really frustrated. This boat just completed a thorough sea trial after being carefully maintained by the previous owner for many years. I'm worried we did something to it to damage it, without knowing.

Not sure about the beeping, but the ac converter should be on all the time. That is basically your battery charger. Beeping could be low voltage.

Sounds like a low voltage alarm to me. I had that happen to me after being rafted up for a weekend and drawing down the power. I guess it was not enough time charging the Batteries with the Generator.

You can check the battery voltage via the smartcraft guages or vessel view if you have them or down at the panel.
