Maggie, not exactly a boat dog

Sorry for your loss. Tough losing a fur child. We lost ours this past June after 14 wonderful years with her. We feel your pain.

Both are beautiful dogs. Sorry for your loss. I had to put down my cocker two years ago, tore my heart out. I am not at the place where I can replace him just yet but miss the hell out of him... Maybe this will help ease your pain,
Put both your dog and your wife in the trunk of your car. Wait an hour, who is happy to see you
My wife got a good snort out of this one, thanks.

I'm sorry you've lost a member of your family. I've said it on this forum before, but there is not a more loyal creature on earth than a dog. They love you whether you're rich or poor and in good times and bad. Boxers are great loyal family dogs. My Grandparents had one when I was a little boy and that dog protected this stupid little boy from himself on more than one occasion.

So very sorry Todd. It’s just the worst losing a member of the family and it never gets easier.

My brother's father in law would tell the story of his boxer protecting his daughter, back in the 60s or 70s, the boxer would literally walk between the sidewalk and the street and keep the daughter off the road, and if someone was coming in the other direction, they would typically cross to the other side of the street. Just 30 minutes before she passed, she heard a knock on the door, and was barking her head off like she always does (because, you know, burglars always knock?) as a family friend came to visit. Just after the friend left, Maggie laid down, my wife came over to pet her, and then walked away, I think she went into some type of respiratory/cardiac distress, she never regained consciousness.

Terribly sorry about losing the dog. We went through it a little over 3 years ago with a lab-mix that had reached 16. Waited a little while & sure enough a Golden Retriever puppy found it's way into out family.
Think we'll always have a dog as they offer unconditional friendship.

Sorry for your loss Todd. One of the hardest things I had to do in my life was put Nikko to rest. He was a 10 1/2 year old Sheltie. Best dog I have ever had. I don't know how many thousand of dollars I spent taking care of him, but if I would have needed to sell the boat to make him better I would have. It amazing how them little creatures can grab a hold of your heart. Hope the pain eases soon and the memories kick in.

My sweet Maggie passed away on Friday, here are some of her best boating pictures. Sure going to miss that girl. She didn’t love boating, but she loved being with us rather than staying at home. Not the best swimmer!
