Man accused of ramming boat on Lake St. Clair charged with OWI

Obviously big boat pissed him off. So who was drunk ? Big or little boat ? Clearly a THT thread to get to the bottom of this. Maybe big boat bought his 2nd boat 1st and didn't know how to drive it ? Lots of questions here.

I have to agree, if my wife a girls were on the boat I'd protect them. Flare gun or Darrenger.

There has to be more to this story

Scoflaw, you hitting the weed again?

Scoflaw, nope, the dog ain't missing the missing parts and pieces. He's doing a lot of licking of the stitches when he thinks we're not looking, but that's to be expected. His bark isn't any higher pitched either. Go figure.

My comment was directed toward your questions:
" So who was drunk ? Big or little boat ?"

boatman nailed it--doesn't matter if the big boat did piss the small boat guy off or not. The video said the little boat guy circled the big boat before he rammed it.

Everything he did, right up to the point where he rammed the big boat, would likely not have gotten him in trouble unless the big boat skipper called the water cops to report his erratic boat driving.

I have ZERO tolerance for drunks behind the helm. I think most on here have seen my pics of my 330 that got run into by a BUI. Still pisses me off.

Not sure WTF that was all about. I can only speculate the larger boat thru a wake that knocked the guy around and caused him to loose his freaking mind. Dumbass is going to pay the piper now.

There is something deeper going on here, This guy is infuriated about something not in the video. He might have reacted this way stone cold sober, not defending him but, that BAC is not trashed, this is a fight and temper tantrum. Not sure why but he is PO'd to the max. Could be a reason the big boat folks do not want to be named...

Sorry off topic. But someone brought up balls!

Based on some of your comments, I'm going to presume you didn't read the article where it clearly states the charges and in fact the guy driving the little boat was drinking or druging.....

"Macomb County Sherriff’s deputies arrested Timothy Kennedy of New Baltimore a short time later at Brandenburg Park around 6 p.m. The 39-year-old man was arraigned Monday on charges of operating while intoxicated and malicious destruction of property. He was given a $5,000 (10%) bond out of the 42-2 Court and is scheduled to be back in court on July 15."

I'm not sure any circumstance of being waked is going to convince a judge that what he did was appropriate. He certainly has anger management issues....

You have to know everyone has a phone with a camera now................. don't screw around because you won't get away with it. Drunk or not

Problem is when you're doing stupid stuff it's almost impossible to remember there are cameras everywhere.. That's why they are so effective in catching stupid stuff. :)

I have no tolerance for drunks, even sorta drunk... To many rescue calls where someone else got hurt or killed while they sit on a curb fussing about a cut on the hand. To many train engineers traumatized as the drunk sleeps it off on the tracks.

This guy needs to have more than just a fine, no matter what set him off. He endangered the lives of others. GOFC, you were a LEO, what else could or should this boater be faceing?

Where's a tripod mounted 50 cal when you need it. (this is sarcasm.....but you get my point)
