Hello. We just bought a '16 310 Sundancer. Quick question on using the Marine Toilet. I know we need the Power on for the Fresh Water Pump, and also the head system (both on electrical panel). What about the Waste System next to the toilet. Should that key be turned on? Is that what operates the vacuum pump? I don't want to be pumping overboard. Thank you for any advice.

On my 07 310 the key needs to be on.
That is what turns the vacuum pump on.

and that same key, if you hold it all the way over past on, will operate the overboard pump. So it's a three position key switch: OFF, ON, and Momentary ON. But to use the overboard pump, the seacock has to be open as there is usually a safety interlock switch there.

Best of luck and welcome to CSR!

Thank you! Quick question.. do you nornally leave the switch "on" or only when using the head?
Thank you.

I leave it on... the only time I turn it off is when I have a vacuum leak or obstruction that make the vacuum pump cycle.

When working properly, the pump will build up vacuum in the system and then shut off and wait for the next use.
