    All,
I am looking to upgrade my horn on my 2002 320 DA. Right now I have the factory horn and to say the least it's ineffective and embarrassing. I am looking to upgrade to a single or dual trumpet style air horn. Does anyone have any suggestions on models with links to purchase? Ideally I would like to put on top of the radar arch but feel installation with the compressor may be difficult and expensive? Has anyone done this? If it proves to be too difficult and expensive I will probably mount on the bow and place the compressor in the anchor line box. Any pics and links to purchase would be very much appreciated. Stay safe and thank you!

I just purchased a Marinco/AFI model 10122 for under $300 for the exact same reason. This model is a white epoxy coated dual trumpet that will go on my hardtop. I plan on putting the compressor in my electronics box but won't get around to doing the install until winter.

i was thinking about the same thing.. But i feel if i put it on the wing... Might be to loud for us... And really hate drilling holes in our boat... I'm thinking on the side

I installed a white epoxy coated stainless Ongaro dual trumpet electric set on my arch. It's almost as loud as air horns and simpler to wire. I used an automotive horn relay to wire using the existing horn circuit for activation, but heavier wiring to the horn itself. Vastly louder.

Looking at various options and wondering if going with an air horn with compressor may be a bit of over kill. If I can find dual mini trumpets electric I would probably go with that.

I need to upgrade my horn too. I replaced the very weak one in the anchor locker with an electric trumpet, still in the locker, but the sound is very muffled. So I want to move the horn to the arch. This 10122 model looks nice, but the mounting method requires access to the underside of the mount. Mounting on the arch wouldn't work in that case. This might be a similar issue with most air horns.

Would be interesting to hear in detail from those that have done this!

We had 320 w/ same issue. I did mount decent horn on top of anchor locker like you mentioned. On the underside of the anchor hatch I mounted the compressor. I tapped into the windlass power line. Had to energize the windlass to blow the big horn but it was worth it. The anchor chain has a lanyard so I did not have a concern or dropping it by mistake. I did post to 320 site back in 06 or o7 I could not find pics but some one who navigate this site better than I may find them.

I'm debating on the same... I found dual white trumpets that are small and I'm debating on putting them on the arch...

I used to have a post with pictures of my setup, but Photobucket messed that up. Let me see if I can find a good place to host a few pictures. (OK used Flickr)
Here is a picture. I drilled into the arch (mine is aluminum) and used Starbord blocks as spacers to get a slight downward slope. They are placed where they are because it is just above the perko arch light which gives access to wire them underneath. The wiring runs in the arch and down to behind the helm where I wired to an automotive horn relay, activated by the existing horn wiring. The horn power feed goes to the relay from new larger wiring. Probably didn't need to do that given a horn is not continuous usage, but at least its done right.
