mercruiser/ searay is a bitch ?

we are sitting here at bad weather and to take a positive approach on all i will write you after 14 years of use down my opinion what i liked and still like on her in comparision to comparable 24 footers like bayliner , maxum etc :

- the finish of the gelcoat , hull an deck , appears to be more shiny and stylish than at competitors . in fact when i polish her freshly she looks nearly like 14 years ago .
- the seating in the cockpit looks sexy
- clamps , bowrail etc look stylish
- in fact she for a recreational 24 footer copes an slightly choppy ocean wave from the front good , the deep vee cuts in smoothly . ( after you really sorted out how to control the tippyness with trim and tabs )
-she keeps her overall shiny appereance also after years while you see a 14 years old 245 byliner its starting aging .

so here regardless of my disaster some nice and true words about searay

And yes, the Bayliner yachts are superior to the SeaRay yachts in build quality.

I still regret selling my Bayliner 4550 Pilothouse.

that is very interesting , did you upgraded your boat ?

a week ago we meet a very nice couple with the boat you have and had there some beers . it was a mid 80,s bayliner 4550 like on your avatar . it was very roomy i must say but i had to hide my laugh seeing the helm , the levers and switches . it looks like a cold war era russian fish trawler.

the owner wants to sale and went price close to nothing but still nobody in europe interested. it has the look of an old tired grandpa. what upgrades did you do ?

The 4550 series was built in the mid 80’s, so yes, they are becoming dated if they haven’t been upgraded.

The follow on was the 4788. The Hino diesels went away and were replaced with Cummins.

If I were to get another, it would probably be the 4788.

this dump piece of iron named exhaust manifold cracked both sides wrecking our holiday . believe me - sure no freeze and no engine overheat , replaced last year.
That looks like freeze damage or possibly overtorquing.

Soulshine, where on Seneca are you? We are as well. In Watkins Glen Yacht Club.

At the moment on the hook off Clute Park waiting for the lunar eclipse.

Were you here this weekend? The place was packed.

Boat is slipped in Montour Falls.

Didn't make it over there. Was jammed up pretty good for sure. Great weather though for the weekend

It really was but I got roasted on Sunday. :(

We decided to stay another night and wait for the chaos to subside.

The wind and white caps made for some interesting entrances and exits so leaving Monday morning seemed more sensible.

I’ll keep an eye out for you.

Sunday was brutally hot no doubt and yes we had some tough ones docking throughout our marina also. lot of helping hands running to help each other which is nice!
