When I took the boat out last season I noticed the diffuser ring on my prop was missing. I have asked a few people at the boat yard the significance of this and they all said I really wouldn't notice a difference if the ring was on there or not. I have read that it pushes the exhaust gases away from the prop. I was wondering what other opinions are on this. Should I replace it or just let it go. I really didn't notice a difference during the season last year without it. Perhaps took slightly longer to get up on plane but I really didn't notice anything other than that.
