I don't know, but that old Mercury in the picture looks like a 115hp.

1967 Mercury 1100ss runs great at WOT but sluggish out of the hole I would like to have a new 4 stroke less pollution just need to know what's compatible"little better than a 1967 1100ss 2 stroke. And stay legal Thanks

Yeah, so the differences between that old Merc and a new Yamaha (Mercury, Suzuki - any new 4stroke) 115 for example is not even comparable. The new motor is going to be much lighter and generate much more torque quicker. It would be night and day. The next step up would be something say 150hp which might be too much for that boat. I wouldn't get too concerned about being "legal" really no such thing on a boat like that - size the motor to what you want/like. For example, years ago we had a 15ft Glasstron that was rated for 85hp, we put a 115hp on it - never an issue.

Thank you for your help. I will probably go

Thanks for all your advice. No to decide what brand motor . 90 vs 115. Thanks again. We will mostly pull my kids skiing and tubing.

I can't say which brand is best, I think if I were looking at outboards I would look at all of them - Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki, Honda - probably not Evinrude, I think they only make 2 cycles.
