All, it's with bittersweet feelings that I am leaving the Sea Ray family; however, I hope you'll allow me to stay around as you all know there is no boating forum that even comes close to the level of expertise and volumes of information that is found here. I'll be changing my signature and removing the picture of my 330, but I have to say how much enjoyment that boat gave us, and with high reliability!! Here is how we found "Neverland":

We were berthed in Mystic, CT for a couple of nights at our favorite marina there, Brewers Mystic. We pulled into a nice slip, next to a very nice looking boat, and I had said if the owner of that boat were ever looking to sell, then I would be very interested. So, for the next day we admired this beauty. The night before we were to head out to Newport, for the remainder of our trip, I came across a very nice looking Formula 45 Yacht at Faribanks Yacht Group, listed at Yachtworld. As I was thumbing through the pictures, I noticed it was next to slip A14. I yelled out, "we are in slip A14. I think I found our next boat!". It took about 10 weeks to go through the transition of buying, then selling, but we are happy with our decision, yet sorry we couldn't find a Sea Ray that met our needs and price range like this one.

The Formula had 90 hours and showed extremely little, if any, wear and tear. The engines, drives, genny, and everything else were fully surveyed by the local Volva Penta shop, and a 3rd party surveyor. There were some items noted, but no deal breakers. I can tell you the 45 drives like a sports car, and rides like a bus, it's absolutely amazing what a difference it is, compared to the old boat, thanks to a lot of differences, not to mention, 12 additional feet in length, and another 2.5 on the beam. The IPS pods, with joystick make this baby ultra easy to dock, I don't have hardly any anxiety whatsoever, as compared to before. At 30 kts, running at 3350 RPM, she really moves!

Thanks to all who have helped me keep the 330 DA in the fine condition it was, and I hope I was of some help to others along the way. I wish you all the best, yet like I said I'll remain here to learn and contribute, going forward.

Very nice, congrats. I toured one like that when we were in Atlantic City a few years ago and the Admiral loved it. Does yours have gas engines?

Beautiful boat! The paint on the formulas is just beautiful. I am impressed with the attention to detail. A great boat from a great company. Wish you the best!

Formula builds a very detailed boat and their craftsmanship and on-water performance is amazing.

Nice! I saw one at the fuel dock at Put in Bay, lake Erie a few months back....awesome!!!

Congrats on your new purchase. Formula boats are awesome and the company is great to deal with. My prior boat was a Formula (10yrs) and was on the fence about going away from Formula, could not find a 45 at the time we liked and came across the 48 Sundancer. It's funny how things work out.

Best of luck,
JB
