I always love being here. We had 3 long weekends here this season and it is always hard to leave. This is our last trip here for the season so I thought I would share some pics of the harbor and boat/yachts that you see here.

Nice! We're heading there a week from tomorrow for three nights.

Nantucket is such an awesome stop, just got to watch out for the rest rants that have $18 kids Mac and cheese!

That’s great, enjoy your trip. There is nothing cheap in Nantucket including the Mac n cheese. We got drinks at Slip 14 the other night and tab was $43 for the 2 drinks.

I worked and vacationed there for many years but haven’t been back in 20 or so.

It was expensive then but if you knew your way around could avoid getting screwed too hard.

Of course that was when it was a ghost town after Labor Day.

Spent a few days in Nantucket about a month ago. My first time ever there. Boat basin was great. We were docked right across from Cru where a zeelander was always side tied. Such a pretty boat. We had a really good night at Bar Yoshi too!

There are tons of great restaurants and less expensive places on Nantucket.

It's actually quite busy on the island untill Columbus day, or whatever it's called now.

Didn't look this year as we didn't have a boat early season, but it used to be that if you stayed at the boat basin in June for like three dollars a foot, it was half off after October 15th, or $1 a foot, including electric.

We usually get there at least once in May or June before it is $10ft and impossible to get a reservation anywhere. Those are some of the the best days on the island. Check the weather on Friday night and then just head over. No problem getting a slip.
But... there is something about being there in the height of the summer season. The Marina is packed with gorgeous boats and the town is hopping.

That is exactly where we were this trip. I like being on that wharf (straight wharf) the best.

In the mid 1800’s Nantucket was the richest place per capita in the US due to the whalers? Yup. True.

I believe today that distinction is reserved for the Port Royal section of Naples, Fl.

So we are here, a day later than planned but still made it! It's super weird being here two days after a hurricane, there is no one here.

We pulled into the harbor right around 3pm and over half the moorings were empty. Walked around the boat basin, about 30% of slips were open. We have seen the streets busier on October 25th!

I am sure it will get busy as we get closer to the weekend, but for now enjoying the peace!

That’s nice to have less people around. Maybe now you can at least get a reservation at a restaurant. Enjoy the Island, you have a great week of weather ahead.
