Hey guys I just bought this trailer for cheap knowing that I am going to have to change the bunks to acquire my 95 searay 330 v-drives. I just need some help on how/what kind of bunks and where to put them. I am going to start by cutting off all the old bunks.

Brandon, what I would suggest is you have your 330 hauled so measurements can be taken. The outside bunks will need to extend clear to the back so they can support the stern/transom area adequately.

There are too many measurements that need to be taken, not the least of which is how far forward/aft the boat is going to have to sit so it is well supported. If you don't get the position of the boat right you stand the risk of having the props/rudders hitting against the back end of the trailer.

Good luck.

I wouldn't cut the trailer apart until I get some dimensions from the boat. Do you know what make/size boat that trailer was originally made for?

Put your boat in a Tavel Hoist and lower it gently down to see where you need to remove and add bunks.

So on my lake we don't have a travel lift or anything like that. Our lake is not really set up for big boats. I am unsure of the previous boat that was on it.

A phone call to the kind folks at Sea Ray and they will give you the suggested placement of bunks, recommended number, length and angles to you can duplicate that to cradle your hull. You can look in the hull and at least match the stringers for both engines as a starting point going as far forward as possible. I agree, I wouldn't start cutting just yet!

It was made for a 2001 formula fastec 382 with twin inboard outboards

As @Sundancer mentioned, SeaRay would be the easiest/most logical starting point. Is your future purchase up on blocks, or in the water now? If on blocks, you can build templates out of 2 X 4's (making sure you get straight ones!) to transfer the hull angle when welding the new bunker supports, but you really do need someone who's experienced with bunker placement to ensure all the load-bearing points are hit. Again, as @Sundancer mentioned, engine stringers and the like need to be carrying the load to the bunkers. It's certainly do-able, but does require understanding of each boat's needs.
