We purchased our 97 450 Searay last October and couldn’t wait to get rid of the carpet. Over the winter I installed LVT throughout the cabin. It was a labor of love and one that was totally worth it

Nice Job!

nice work.

What product(s) did you use on the step and hatch edges?

How did you remove the carpet?

What did you use for the flooring material?

BEST !

Morning!

On the stairs, I purchased and used dark brown vinyl stair edging trim (Menards).

For the hatch trim, I ordered "L" the stainless trim from home depot

We simply loosened an edge of the carpet and tore it up. It's easier taking a blade knife and cutting it into sections for smaller piece removal.

This is the flooring we used, also purchased at Menards. I looked at the temperature range allowed for the flooring when making my determination. Also wanted it to be waterproof. The honey walnut picked up the grays and tan colors. Very happy with the choice.

looks great
how are the hatches done?
The installer flush mounted with no molding. The 390 has two separate hatches in the galley area. The installer removed the two and built a single large hatch in that area. I don't have a picture of that, though. He did manage to get all the grain to line up on the hatches so they kind of disappear. It was a $4,200 cost (PO gave me all receipts for the boat) labor and materials. Not cheap, for sure.

Would you know off hand how many sq feet the 450 is?

I have been quoted north of $4k for my boat…. I am having it quoted again this year

It's a huge visual difference over the carpet. And, it'll be way easier to keep clean and looking good. My wife never liked the carpet on the other used Sea Rays we had looked at. That was going to be an immediate expense had we settled on one with carpet.

I can try to locate the installer name if you want. He was local to the Catawba area.
