Hi all!

Found this site through googling troubleshooting and seemed to be a lot of good info and help. So I joined.

I have a 2001 searay 245 weekender. It has Bennett v351 trim tab unit that is now leaking into my engine compartment. It appears to be dripping down the wall of the engine compartment where it is mounted. I have not removed the lexan cover to inspect further as we are spending a weekend on the boat and don’t want to cause further harm.

From reading a few of the forums here I set both tabs to be “bow down”/fully extended. the starboard tab slowly has started raising itself. I think this means one of the seals is leaking. Is it one of the replaceable seals? Or do I need a new hpu? Is there something else I should do to diagnose?

Any help would be great! And thanks in advance!

I have a few pics now but will be putting her back in the trailer tomorrow and can get more pics and info as needed.

Usually that means that one of the valve seats is leaking.
