Hi, new member here from Virginia. I picked up a new project yesterday, a 1995 Sea Ray 200 Signature (I think I got a great deal). Overall it's in decent condition for its age, showing 372 hours, which I believe to be correct. A good cleanup, service, and maybe some wheels/tires should get us on the water for the season. I'd like to confirm the 5.7 is the 230hp version in case I need to order any parts. Attached is the engine tag number. Thanks for any input on this and I'd like to see other 200s from the 90s if anyone cares to share some.

Boat looks to be in fantastic shape. The HP would be correct for the 2 BBL version. This engine picked up 20 HP when they switched to the vortex heads. I had the early 350 Mag in the 22’ version of your boat and it was a 60+ mph boat.

Nice boat. Congrats. That’s just fun all day long.
Thanks, I look forward to getting back on the water.

coming from a 3.0 175 I'd be happy with 48mph ;)
I have, thanks. Options on this 200 seem to be 5.7, bow filler cushions, halon, bimini top, and bow/cockpit canvas.

That is one very nice looking boat. I like the lines of the hull and the graphics. It looks like it going 50 mph while it's sitting on the trailer.

Ya done good. Now go have fun with her.

Nice looking boat. Congrats and welcome to CSR.

I put a thermostat in yesterday before our first outing. It had a 180 automotive one in it, replaced with a 160.

Cruised around the river for a few hours, the old 200 did really well. Down trim relay isn't working correctly so I'll order one. And the trim gauge isn't working so I'll look into that too.

I hope so. Sold our last boat about 2 years ago and they have very little memory of it. I plan to pull them on tubes now that they're old enough.

That is correct...55+ is what I am thinking...
that will be fun. The first outing was just to get a feel for the boat and to make sure there were no issues (or identify any).

What's everyone's thoughts on E10 fuel in an old boat like this? Fuel on the river where we normally will go isn't easy to get. I either need to put in where I'd rather not, or run 20 mins either way to get fuel. Non-ethanol isn't easy to find at the local gas stations either.

235 horse, and has a flat tappet cam, which means you need some zinc in your oil.

If there is any crap in your fuel system the E10 will loosen it up and send it downstream

I'd believe flat tappet cam, but pretty sure this is the 250hp engine, according to the sales brochure it's the 250hp Magnum with the Alpha 1 drive. Why they offered so many engines I don't understand. The serial number comes up Magnum when I looked it up.
