For a 40 footer you should have at least this size or bigger:

Mike, remember those tiny steering wheels made from silver chain? They were used a lot in the 50's. You need one of those. ;)

Just kidding. If you have power steering on your boat that wheel should work. It'll also be easier to fit a big belly behind it without it rubbing on your shirt.

Some very nice folks just across the bay, have you been there?

Not yet. Never ventured across in the 320. We will be touring a lot this year. Leland and the CSR reunion are already planned. Frankfort is on the agenda to check out. M

My Cruisers has a very similar steering wheel to the Sea Ray vessels of similar size and it looks very dated with all the updating I am doing. Is this wheel big enough for a 40 foot express cruiser? Will it look good proportionally?

Holy crap, that's exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you for making me spend my money

First thing i did when i bought our boat was replace the steering wheel. The original wheel looks like it came out of my 1990 VW jetta about 30 years ago. I ended up buying the new version that Sea Ray was using and love it!
