New systems monitor showing lcd boxes,

I just replaced my systems monitor. Now I am getting boxes across the screen.
This readout isn't listed on the troubleshooting guide.
Help please...

My replacement is a few years old. The display occasionally goes out of control. Cycling power to it (I unplug and the reconnect the red power wire) resets it and then it's all good. Mine would go off when I held my vhf mic close to it while I talked into the mic. I think the software in the display isn't too robust and gets scrambled.
