Hey everyone new to this forum as I just got a 2000’ 185 Bowrider a week or so ago and took it out for the first time Friday.

Only thing I don’t have is an anchor what do you guys use? Father in law gave me a ton of freebies as far as line and the anchor line he got me is a bungee I think called an anchor buddy. He recommended this as our main activity will be anchoring with the bungee then pulling a line back to shore to swim near the beach. I’m only in lakes here no rivers so not too terrible for currents.

Thank you

Welcome - nice boat - I've got a 1999 and it has been a great little boat. As far as an anchor, I have one of these https://www.amazon.com/SeaSense-Anchor-Slip-Ring-Econo/dp/B004XAHMCC . I might not have bought one, but it came with the boat and while I have though of buying something better, this one has worked greate for the 15yrs I have owned the boat. A great little inexpensive anchor for a small boat. Obvisously with this small boat, I am just lunch anchoring for few hours at a time - one really nice thing is the slip ring feature - it will slide to the front of the anchor and let you pull it from opposite the shank if it get's stuck. It's helped me get the anchor up more than once.
