Newbie Seeking Help with a 2011 350 Sundancer - Tampa Bay Area

Hello all;

Just getting into boating and feeling very overwhelmed. Just purchased a 2011 350 Sundancer. Wondering if there are any experienced owners with a similar boat in the Tampa Bay area that will be willing to help me learn the boat and navigation around Tampa Bay? I am in Apollo Beach, close to the TECO Power Plant. Boat will be probably be delivered to me around March 1, 2017.

I am currently taking The U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary's Boating Skills and Seamanship Course; learning a lot of new things but it does not provide any hands training; a lot of talk of what can go wrong. I need be comfortable getting the boat on and off the lift, navigating down my canal into bay where the is the water depth is only 6-inches; understanding the ATONS so that I will stay in the deep part and stay out of the commercial shipping channels, not running over any manatees and then enjoy boating. YIKES!!!

Congrats! Sounds like a great boat! Was it a private sale or a broker/dealer? Can/will they provide "orientation"? Even if they will, your best bet is to hire a licensed captain.......the best money you will spend.....do it until you are comfortable.
