I have SR310 DA 2008, and looking for the best location to install the NMEA 2000 network. The easiest power location is under the helm, but space too tight. Looking for recommendations on where you installed yours? pictures would be great if possible.

It can be anywhere you want that’s convenient. A N2K network is simply a straight backbone of cable. The backbone begins and ends with resistors that plug into each end. Power is introduced to the network with a tee. The line that is perpendicular to the backbone from the tee is a drop cable. A drop can handle either a single device, or a power connection. If there is a tee with no drop, it just has a dummy plug to keep the tee terminal clean.

There should be room behind the gauges or behind the mfd/vessel view to mount. I just replaced my old c80 and seemed like there was plenty of room to mount a vv link module, the rest is just cable.
