I did this to mine and it worked great! I used a combination of the dip and the spray to completely refurbish mine.Has anyone tried plasti dipping the cord to keep it from falling apart all over the boat?

I did the same (except I got the white one)!I know am replying to an old post. But I thought someone may be looking on here for a solution just like I was. I had a problem with the handset cord, the rubber was coming off in pieces. I refused to put a radio on my dashboard and didn’t want to spend over $1000 for the newer version. So Instead I purchased a black box ICOM radio which I installed it myself. It sounds great with the old speaker. View attachment 79960View attachment 79961
