The shower/condensate sump under my cabin step has been working intermittently, and now not at all. Some cutting and testing seems to indicate no power to the incoming wire(s). Those wires quickly disappear and end up who knows where and I can't find an associated breaker in the box under my helm. I guess I can remove the corrugated cover and check the wiring further back but after that I don't know where to look next. I'll check the wiring diagram but those things are close to Greek to me. Anyone else tackled this problem?

I had to replace that pump a while back as well. I thought the wires were dead but turned out they were badly corroded inside the insulation. I stripped back to clean copper and they worked. Sorry I can’t help with the where they go question but that might be a quick check if yours have the slack

Fuse box at stern in door. Fuse listed as sub pump. Mine kept tripping cause my pump was frozen. Replaced and all goos

Anyone have a sure fire source for the locking clips for the water system's push fittings?

Perfect, thanks! Just ordered 9.

Re: the sump. Breaker was not flipped, wire in perfect condition. It occurs to me those wires enter the AC locker so I'll go snooping around there next. If that fails I'll just wire the damn thing to the light in the step.

I am possibly buying a 1998 290 sundancer this weekend and it single engine mercruiser 7.4L mpi. Is third a mistake? I've read that the single engine barely moves this boat.

It’s enough power for inland boating on a light/moderate load and in fair weather, is I think the general consensus. Handling can be tough though, it’s a big heavy boat and a single will take some getting used to. That being said you’ll have tons of room in the bilge for maintenance. Fuel burn will likely be similar to the twin 305’s with alphas or slightly better.

Thank you!
