Official 19SPX/21SPX/SPX190/SPX210 Thread

I’ve purchased 4 SR’s through Marine Max and they all included anchors and all safety equipment. No bag but like Jim said, not needed.

I configured my 210 SPX with the 9inch Simrad GO9 with "preloaded basemap" (north america).

does this mean ill have navionics or C MAP?

The basemap filled my needs so I didn't go further. The specs say its compatible with the others, but I would imagine you would have to pay for them and then download them.

I guess what I'm asking is what is the basemap? does it look similar to Navionics or C-MAP?

Shes a beauty. Ended up going with a navionics card for the simrad.

Noticed about an inch of water stays in the bilge at all times (even after turning on the pump). assuming this is normal

That is normal. The bilge pump only pumps it down to about and inch.

I've been disappointed with the stereo at the helm, speaker positioning just isn't good to be able to hear at speed with guests on the boat. I've got an extra set of the Rockfords to put in. Have any of you guys put in a third pair of speakers? Was thinking below the throttle on the starboard and in front of the grab bar on the port side (mirrored forward from the stock one).

where do you recommend to put the anchor on your SPX? Marine Max put ours in the center midship Locker but on our first trip in slid to the back and makes a bunch of noise when we're bouncing around. looking to buy some kind of device that holds the anchor in place and prevents it from rattling on the fiberglass

I put mine on the port side locker under the dash. I put down some rubber floor mats on the floor to keep it from rattling.

We have the front anchor under the port bow cushion and the rear anchor where the cooler would go by the battery. We park stern to current at the sand bar so we use two all the time.

Under either front bow cushion worked best for me. Never made a sound. That center stowage area (in floor) was always nasty because the bilge pump never gets it completely dry. Best for skis, etc.

I'm sure MM just put it where it was convenient for them to deliver the parts, not where it was appropriate for use.

Put the main anchor under one of the bow lockers. Getting it in and out is easy. Be sure to install an eye bolt for the bitter end. After a few beers you might forget what you are doing....LOL. The place is carpeted so there should be no damage, nor should it make any noise.

If you are in shallow water on the sandbar, and you often swim or go in the water, a SS corkscrew (like for a dog chain) is preferred over a stern anchor. Otherwise a small chene or fluke anchor will do the job.

NEVER anchor off the stern. A stern anchor is ONLY to keep the boat from moving side to side. Take a boating safety course - they can explain it quite well.

I keep my stern anchor in a plastic wash tub. It keeps the bilge clean and no rattling.

Also, I installed a pair of SS chocks a few inches on each side of the bow light. Anchoring straight off the bow eliminates 95% of the wandering, so I rarely even need a stern anchor.

Hey guys noticed when I was flushing my engine today (2021 200 hp merc) with the motor in the tilted up position there was some water coming out of the lower cowling during flush? Told this is normal with the new oil sump sprayers?

Hey guys does anywhere know where I could find a parts diagram for the 21 SPX? I just need to to buy the rubber clip that holds the power steering box lid on. seem to have lost 1 of them

LOL, I swear; SeaRay could use this forum - and more importantly it’s helpful members! - as a selling point!!!!!

Anyone here with an SPX 190 that’s running trim tabs? I’m only a second year boater (we bought new last year) and trying to figure out what, if anything, I can do to improve stability. Some of it may come down to my own inexperience and/or the size of the boat. It just gets really frustrating dealing with the rough ride though. We boat on Lake Keowee mostly and wave action is almost always rough, although I see plenty of boats buzzing through with apparently no problems. It’s rare that I can run on plane for an extended period of time. Lots of bobbing, skipping, etc. That’s even running a “low” speeds (20ish mph), going faster doesn’t seem to smooth it out, and going slower just makes the bow stick up. However, on Lake Hartwell where we typically see calmer waters, I can get the boat to perform great. I can trim the outdrive just right and we cruise. Comfortable ride, on plane, good speed. Sometimes feels like we’re just floating it’s so smooth. We love Keowee and intend to keep boating there. Am I just stuck with the rough ride, or is there something I can do? I’ll also say that we seem to be more stable with a few more adults on board as compared just me, my wife, and our two young daughters. I’ve even had the crazy thought that it’d probably ride better if we were cruising around with a bilge full of water!

I put trim tabs on mine last fall but I have not ran it yet with them. Check out post #649 in this thread. I did it mainly for hole shot and being able to trim the boat left to right. I agree with you I don’t find the boat to be all that comfortable in choppy conditions but I am not sure that the tabs will help all that much with that. In the end it is a rather light boat with a shallow dead rise so it is going to be a bit bouncy in the rough stuff.
