I would assume Sea Ray would use some sort of anti-reflect stuff for the darker colored vinyl to minimize the heat.
Nah. It's as simple as light and dark colors.

The dune definitely gets warmer - not sure if I'd called it "extra" hot, though. Some might, though.

I'm keeping the dune color. It looks way nicer. It won't show all the dirt like white, and it's not like I can't lay some towels down or something if it's so scorching. I don't think Sea Ray would offer it if it burned their owners. Also, forget the extra captain's chair.

LOL yep I already saw that about the seat. IF they haven't fixed it, I'll rig it lol. I hope they moved the speaker forward so it's not just blaring into someone's shorts sitting down, it looks like they have in the newer ones.

Do you guys think the second captain's seat is worth $1000? I forgot to add my bow filler cushion to my build and am calling the dealer tomorrow. The second captain's seat I was a little torn on, I'm sure I could still order it. If the regular is comfortable enough, that's fine. Though they'll be sitting right beside a blaring speaker.
When we ordered ours the dealer had both options on the floor. The wife was used to a captain's seat before, but when she sat on the std. convertible bench she simply had to have it. Sure, that capt seat swivels but open up the bench and it provides even more flexibility. That's simply HER opinion, and she got what she wanted. Nevertheless, I wasn't anxious to spend $1000 on a $200 seat.

In the forward facing position the speaker is farther away from the rider than if you were sitting in a capt. seat. Folded out the forward position is right on top of the speaker. Another personal opinion.

I've always had darker upholstery and we always carry towels with us. I can't compare white to dune, but I CAN say that I've yet to need to use a towel because it was uncomfortable.

So are you saying that the speaker is blocked by someone sitting in the convertible seat? Or more so with the captain's seat? I'm not getting the extra captain's seat. I did decide to play it safe at the last minute and decided against the beige. I chose the ivory. I get hot easily, the beige will be warmer than white. I would hate to take delivery and regret the interior color choice for the next 20 years bc it gets too hot. White is safe.

There are no upholstery upgrades that I'm aware of. No way to add any of that on the custom build online. My guess is it comes standard now with maybe more? This boat was $45k base just to start. This stereo upgrade had better be worth it. 1600 watts not sure how to go wrong lol.

It’s now bundled with some other options and called “ Elite Package” It’s a costly option.
 
MrX, here’s a picture of the side convertible lounger seat with speaker so you can get an idea of where it’s positioned. Also an idea what the upgraded vinyl looks like.

Its more than just the cushions, it also includes a full stainless steel hardware upgrade, awesome blue neon lighting, an upgraded step and full SeaDek on the swim platform. When we compared the 2 versions in the showroom, we just had to have it. The black plastic handles alone make the boat look like a budget model.

I just called and added the extra captain's seat. I don't like that speaker location with the standard seat. It WILL be blared LOUD a LOT of the time. I paid (overpaid) for the 1600 watt stereo. No point if the sound is just going into someone's shorts. Captain's seat looks better, too.

Stainless steel and LED lighting are part of our order. The upgraded upholstery looks nice but I'm sure the boat will be plenty comfortable. Like I've said I'm coming from a fiberglass Florida CC boat. That said, I wonder what the a'la carte price of upholstery upgrade is.

Pretty sure it has to do with whether you pick the sound upgrade or not, which I did.

I can't find any document on the depth gauge, what are the 2 buttons supposed to do, they beep and do nothing'.
I already experienced cavitation during hard turns, trim was all the way down. If after next few trips it continues to happen it will raise the issue, don't expect much response. I have seen talk of moving the engine down. I did ask salesman if they have ever done that to fix issue, he said no. I'm incline to try a hydrofoil. many good reviews on

I have had a hydrofoil on every boat I've owned since 1984. My Searay 190SPX has one. It has made a perfect boat even better. But if ventilation (not cavitation) is a problem, it won't solve your issue.

My personal recommendation is to use a DoelFin. They were the first out there and the design and location are optimum. They require drilling 4 holes. If you google fins on many forums, you will hear all the bad press. Its usually because people don't read the directions. The biggest urban legend is that they break off the AV plate. That IS possible if they are not torqued to specs. The no-drill clamp-ons are the ones that are suspect in that regard, plus they often fall off due to an insecure mount.

If drilling holes in the lower unit doesn't set well, a fin alternative is a trim tab. Then you will drill 16 holes in the bottom of the boat.....LOL.

As far as ventilation on hard turns, don't do it. Hard turns should be relegated to emergency situations. If you are picking up skiers, slow down before you turn.

SeaRay sets up their outboards for optimum performance. A DoelFin fits the 190 specs perfectly.

If you NEED to make frequent hard turns for some reason, sure lower the motor. But then don't install a fin. You can eliminate the ventilation by doing that, but then you'll lose top speed and you'll use more fuel at any speed.
 
That said, I wonder what the a'la carte price of upholstery upgrade is.
If you back out the cost for SS upgrade in the Elite Package, plus the neon lighting, plus the SeaDek on the swim platform, the upholstery itself added about $300. Since we wanted those other options as well, the upholstery was very cost effective.
 
2nd trip out in boat was much better, didn't try any sharp turns and boat rode chop very well. My last 25 years I boated with jet boats, last was 18ft with 240hp, I was expecting similar turning and such, but OB is just a different beast.
I want to fill the bottom inch of the ski locker with something so water doesn't sit there. angle it so it all goes out drain hole when sitting on trailer. Any suggestions? some thing like a liquid rubber that will pour, self level ( trailer nose down low) , then harden?
Doel Fin on order. it seems to be only one with air foil mounted directly over prop.
 
Does this sound right?
I have the 150 OB, the prop is 14.5 19 pitch blackmax.
When I push throttle all the way the rpm's go to 6500, significantly past the 5800 rpm spec.
Tried it with trim all the way down as well as trimmed up slightly. both smooth and light chop on water.
