Official 2003.5-2008 340 Sundancer Thread

Just remembered that I also need to replace the gas springs in the V-berth gunwale lockers.

They are Attwood Spring Lift SL-10-20 but can't find exact one with same size and pressure.

Would the SL-10-30 do the same job or will it force the lid to open higher ?

Found this one 10" extended lenght, 20 pounds pressure and lower price.

Ireplaced mine with SL-30205 earlier this year and have had no issues.

Has anyone ever made a liquor cabinet or wine bottle holder in the space of the TV? Last year I was thinking about it and then installing a smart TV on the Aft wall. Has anyone ever converted it? Thanks

I did this in my 320:

It's not liquor, but it's nice to never have to hit feet on floor in the morning!

Does anyone know what brand of battery charger is in a 06 340 sundancer?

They usually came with progressive dynamics intelli-power chargers/converters. I am running a PD2160 currently. (five AGMs) The stock one in my boat was a PD-2040, but the newer equivalent version is the 2140.

The new chargers use the exact same footprint as the older models, so it is plug and play.

With the 2040 can I replace my lead acid batteries with agm batteries?

Yes, AGM batteries can be charged the same as lead acid batteries. That being said, the newer chargers have a specific AGM setting which charges them more effectively, but older chargers work fine. There is a common misconception that AGM batteries are the same as GEL, they are not. AGM batteries are essentially lead acid batteries.

I did both on my 05' 340. The TV will swivel into a position so that I can close the curtains for my 3 yr old to watch movie and nap in the front berth. Works well.

Standard depends on a few factors. Here is what I'm looking to replace my SL with;
http://www.raymarine.com/multifunction-displays/axiom/

Its the newest MFD from Raymarine, not available till April. I have no radar currently so will also include the latest setup available. Three sizes to choose from, I believe the 9 inch will fit in dash. If needed, you can purchase a new dash plate cheap.

oh wow thanks for the heads up, looks like a nice unit. i think i'll do the same thing. keep me posted with yours if you can.

Actually the new Raymarine ES series 9 inch model won't fit, it looks like the Axiom 9" would fit, but is a pretty small screen according to the specs. I can say for certain that the E series do, as would an A Series. I replaced my E80 with a E97 with no issues. Raymarine has an adapter plate to make it fit the cutout with some minor modifications. The same holds true for the old SL series, as my slip neighbor just made the same upgrade to his.

In the pics, I replaced the e80 with an e97, networked to an a75, and Mecury Vessel View 4. I also replaced the radome with a Quantum, and replaced the raystar 125 with the 130. (not really necessary as the MFD's have their own antenna, but I wanted to make sure I had good reception at all times.)
