Trying to add a fishing photo . . .

This shot is from the dry stack facility where we keep "Stray Boatage." Sort of makes you "gulp" when you first see the fork lift hoist your baby in the air . . .

Nice fish Dave. Do you have the smart craft system with the troll mode? I've never used mine, well except when I've engaged it by accident. Then I couldn't figure out how to shut it off! haha

I sold a fishing boat to buy this cruiser. My fishing friends make fun of me because I don't allow fishing on this boat! In my defense, my fishing buddies used to smash bait and fish and tackle into my non skid on the fishing boat so................no way on my carpeted fun boat! haha

Sure does! You've obviously spent a little time in Milwaukee. I was there a year or two ago - the place is ancient - been around for ever.

Yes - I have played with the smart troll a little and it works wonderfully. This 240 can move ever so slowly - and fast too! I am hoping to have my cake and eat it too - a nice boat for cruising with wives and at the same time, having a line or two in the water. Time will tell if it makes sense - for now I have just added two removable rod holders to the back hand rail.

I went to boot camp in N. Chicago in 1984. Then went to "A" and "C" schools there also. I was there for almost 2 years. I used to hop the train to Milwaukee on the weekends.
I used to like watching the "door" camera. People would do strange things to get in there......me too before I figured out the password! haha

Hey everyone. I will be taking possession of a new-to-me 06 Sundancer this friday. Been looking to upgrade from my 2010 185 sport for about the last 6 months.

I spent a couple hours reading over this thread and you guys have provided a ton of information on this boat! I'm sure I'll be asking questions as time goes on.

This boat has alot of options included on it:

Vacuflush, A/C and Heat, TV, Waterheater, chartplotter, it also has a custom mattress for the forward berth that the salesman said he hasn't seen offered before, and the 350 Mag motor with bravo3 outdrive.

Pretty excited for friday and look forward to getting out on the water.

I took delivery of a 2006 this April and love it. Admittedly, this is my first sport cruiser or larger (to me) boat of any type, but I have really enjoyed getting to know the craft. To me it is very well designed and versatile boat. So far my only issue is finding the deepest part in the cabin, the low step adjacent to the galley and head, with about 1/4 inch of water in it. This came from the sump that drains the head sink and shower. I was exercising the sump along with all the other plumbing as I familiarized myself with the systems. Apparently, the sump can be a bit touchy and it did not drain completely or I thought it was drained and turned off the power and water eventually overflowed the sump or leaked from it and ended up in that low spot. I have not used the head sink since and have had no issues since.

Welcome to the 240da club. Hopefully the issues have been corrected by the previous owner. That would be lucky!

I haven't heard of the mattress option either. Maybe the previous owner just had a custom one made.

Enjoy, Mike

Dave, do you leave your boat tied up in the slip with thoes small fenders? I use the larger ones. If a wake or big wind comes up, it looks like your boat will contact the dock. Just a perspective notice.

Don't you know that you never question the size of another man's fenders? Seriously, the boat is dry stacked so that it is not in a slip for very long. Further, this is a no wake river and there is no potential for waves, so it is a pretty static environment. Where I would tie up elsewhere is also no wake for the most part so I went with this size.

Yea, sorry about that. I lost myself there. Didn't mean to try to give you fender envy! haha
No wake river...............I've been in no wake zones, and some jack wad will be plowing along throwing a wake, right when you least expect it, and bamo, scratched gel coat.
Just a warning, it made me cry when it happened to my brand new squeaky clean, scratch free, glowing gel coat! haha Maybe alittle dramatic huh? Ah well...............don't trust any of em'
