Used boat - it already has "character" scratches - in fact I need to buff and wax the dang thing.

Mike, I agree with you! But then again in coastal waters we always have waves, wakes, and general idiots who do not respect other boats. An old classic comes to mind..." I like big fenders and I can not lie"

Spent our first night on our new "to-us" 240. Was a great experience! I did experience the listing "problem" that is described on other posts and it does feel a bit odd but I think I'm getting the hang of trimming it out.

I'm not sure why they set the trim controls up like they did, seems like they are wired backwards, I spend more time trying think about how they are wired instead of just trimming out. A re-wire may be in order here.

It rained the second night on it and discovered a small leak in the hatch so I'll be fixing that sometime today.

I will have to get used to the increase fuel consumption as I am used to running my 185 Sport for a couple weeks before refueling.

We are looking forward to many summer nights out on the water this season.

The tabs are probably wired right, Look at the label - The upper left will say bow down -
this activates the starboard tab down & vise-versa - It seems backwards but is correct.

I'm sure they do have it wired right, just seems like it would be easier a different way.

I have a small leak around my hatch as well. How were you planning to fix your leak? I was going to try a bead of silicone between the hatch flange and the deck. Didn't wan't to take the hatch apart unless i had too.

Ya'll talking about a bow hatch leak? Reason I ask is, my hatch was "stuck down" in the closed position, and when I tried to open it, it sounded like it was tearing the gasket. I hope not. I guess I'll find out when I get caught in the rain.

Well, I went back the next day to look around for the leak. I cleaned up around the hatch as there seemed to be alot of "crud" built up around the seal.

I think I located the leak where the latches are attached through the hatch. The handles wiggled a bit and I could see where the seal on the top of the hatch didn't quite seem to make a tight fit to the glass. So I took the handles off to get to the seals, cleaned around where the seals met the glass and put it back together. I tightened them up more than they were and the seals look like they are fitting tighter now.

We will see during the next rain. If that didn't fix it I'll probably replace the gaskets on those latches and see if that works.

Anyone have any thoughts on what to do with the cabin locker? It's wasted space right now. Anyone put shelves in? Does anyone actually hang up clothes? Has to be a better use of that space.

My wife was just asking yesterday if I could put shelves in there, Looking forward to see if anyone has done it.

So been raining a bit since I tried to fix the hatch, and the fix seemed like it worked good. Spent last weekend out on the boat through rain and storm and no water in the cabin. Now I just have to figure out why the gas stove isn't working all of a sudden. Worked fine the first week but this weekend didn't want to start. Acted like it didn't get any gas.

If I push down on the canister when I put it in I'll get a quick flame then nothing. Wonder if the cap for the butane holder isn't pushing the tank far enough.

I know my dealer said SeaRay wasn't going to be making them anymore because of the cost and final purchase price being so close to the 260. I think their site still lists the 240 on their site but I think they are stopping production.

Thanks, Tom. Where in the river do you have your slip? The weather has really made getting out difficult. I did wax my boat on Saturday, but I assume that is not most owners idea of fun. I enjoyed it though - still a newbie.

So, I'm finally getting around to replacing audio equipment. My question is, the stock speakers are 5 1/4 correct? Anyone put 6.5's in the holes? Also, anyone got advice where to put an amp? I'd like to put it in cabin near to the stereo if possible. I have not found a suitable place for a subwoofer either, anyone got one on theirs? Thanks.
