I replaced some parts on mine a few weeks ago, got them direct through the Sea Ray dealer. It was cheaper to just replace the parts that were bad. I needed a new sprayer head, was only $23.

Here are the part numbers from Sea Ray:

Thanks Bob, I moved over to your area this year, Continental Marina, What dealer did you get it from?

Hi am a new member and just recently purchased a 06 240 with a 350Mag with heat exchanger .I am very happy with the boat after i learned how to trim it out to stop it rolling, through this forum so thanks. On 2 occasions now after running the boat and stopping for a while then restarting it and running for 5 mins at idle it stalls and will not restart. It smells like a vapour lock issue to me but last night i was able to get it going after a while using full throttle then it ran ok cruising at 3200rpm. Any info would be appreciated as it doesnt fill the boss with any confidence at the moment.

Thanks Jack F for the quick reply I will check it out tomorrow.Another question if I may this boat was optioned up Navman,2 way radio, full camper covers, Windass anchor, bow light, dvd/ tv ,fire system, hot water ,vacuflush / holding tank ,4 battery system and also has a Side Power electric bow thruster. Problem is it only works occassionally which is annoying,i know its not necessary but its on the boat so it should be working. It is mounted directly under the v berth table mounting stand in the bilge and I want to check that there are no electrical corrosion issues. Does anybody know how to get into that area without cutting inspection holes in the floor. Thanks again

Hi,

Looking for a smaller boat to explore the San Juan Islands, and maybe Victoria BC on a nice day. In 7 years the Admiral and I will be retired, and hope to own a 35 to 40 ft boat to explore inside passage.

For now, want something we can tow with our SUV, towing capacity 6500 lb. So, we are looking at 240 DAs.

Thoughts on this boat which we are going to check out? NADA has this boat a bit lower than their price but seems to be in the ballpark. Thoughts?
Thank you

Just purchased my first Sea Ray! 1998 Sundancer 240, interior is all like new, runs great, passed inspection on everything. getting new cover, entire boat buffed, new prop, and new pin stripes to match the new cover this weekend.

I read the first 60 pages of this thread already, ha! Didn't see anything yet on installing aftermarket A/C, is this very difficult? Im pretty handy with boats, and mods. Any recommendations for units? Mainly looking to cool down the cabin at night on shore power on hot summer nights. We have 90*+ nights here in Michigan mid-summer.

Thanks for any info in advance, and thanks for all the info so far!

good looking 240, a portable house AC works when on shore power, vent it out a porthole

thank you! will take better pics once its all cleaned up.

my parents do that on their Rinker, looking for something more permanent and stationary. I have seen quite a few different models online that have their own thermostat and standard setup, just no idea what's good and whats not.

this claims to be the "world's smallest" 4200 BTU, I don't think it would have much trouble keeping a 240 cabin cool at night. again, no idea on quality though.

I'm new to CSR. I have only made one post. We don't have our 240, yet. We are tentatively going to have it delivered on Wednesday. I think I have read every post in this thread over the last two days. I was hoping to find that someone had put a wake tower on a 240. Reading all this, I have come to the understanding that the 240 is already very top heavy and maybe that is why Sea Ray never put a radar tower or wake on it. But, I also read a lot of posts about gps, lights and other mounting problems. I would like to be able to put a digital tv antenna, gps and lighting on one if i can figure out where to get one. If anyone did do this and have not posted it or I missed it, please let me know. Thanks!

I considered installing a/c on my 240 and quickly realized it would be cheaper and easier to sell my boat and buy a boat that already had a/c. And I work in the hvac industry.

haha!

I dont need anything super fancy, just would prefer something that isnt a giant portable unit that I have to lug on and off the boat and throw in the dock box or car. I cant imagine it's that difficult, is it? have you done any other modifications to your 240? I have a HVAC and a master mechanic friend on hand for assistance if need be. The logistics of it doesnt seem too complicated, was just hoping someone on here might be able to give any kind of recommendations or guidance from their experience.

Anyone installed Mercruiser's Vesselview Mobile Module on their 240DA? I am unable to locate the "engine harness 10 pin connector" with the "Terminator/weather cap, that the module connects to. I have traced all of the wiring harnesses that I can find both from the engine forward and the helm station aft and cannot find the plug. The only thing I can find is the harness (just aft of the engine) marked "Termination Resistor On This End" but no Terminator Weather Cap. I have traced the blue insulated wiring forward. Any other 240DA owners run into this?

Have a new question.

I am considering putting in a windlass. I am trying to do all the research ahead of time. I have studied the pictures posted of the actual installation. I think I can pull that off unless there is any fiberglass remolding. It was mentioned in the post there was some. But, I don't see what it was in the pictures.

But, the question is, how the heck to do get the control and power wiring to the bow? I have found a path to the helm from the engine room. Had to figure that out to install the Raymarine Axiom 7. That was quite something for a 40+ year old fat guy. But, I am not seeing an obvious route from helm to bow. Another wiring question is how to get my nmea2000 cable from my mfd at the helm to the audio head unit next to the shore power controller. Will I have to snake it all the way to the engine room and back to the galley? If I do, I will surely put an expander on the end so I won't have to ever do it again! Right now, I just have an RCA to 3.5mm cable running from my sirius reciever across the cabin opening and jammed in the aux port of the head unit. Function. But, not form.

it has a very deep vee so it tends to roll with weight distribution or anyth
