Official 330 Express Cruiser / 340 Amberjack 1997-2003 Thread

Received a copy of a survey on a 2001. To me it showed extensive areas of elevated moisture, especially in the stringers, not including the engine stringers. It seemed odd as I wouldn’t think it would be common in this model. Frankly the survey write up wasn’t all that great. Is there a history of these types of issues with these models?

That is strange, where on the stringers ?
Possible near the drain holes on outbound stringers that dump into the bilge sump area engine room

has anyone here mounted outriggers on or thru the arch? and how did you do it and did you have to reinforce anything

I’ve seen traditional outrigger mounts on the outbound sides of the arch port and starboard installed without an issue, not sure about the top mount ones that will go on top of the arch

Hey guys! Anyone haul a dinghy on your swim platform? Curious to know what davit system you used. Just bought a Highfield 310CL with 20hp motor. My 340 amberjack swim platform is only 24” wide by10’. Any suggestions are welcome.

If the radar arch leaks and allows water inside the hollow arch, it runs down the arch and into the ER, and can be trapped in the pocket between the flat surface where the water heater is mounted and the stringer. If the fuel tanks are not full the boat tends to have a bow down attitude which keeps the water trapped in the forward area of the pocket - away from the limber hole which is at the rear of the ER. Using the boat will produce a bow high attitude which will drain the water, but leaving it sit might have long term implications regarding water intrusion.

Interesting. Something like that must have happened.

Hey guys I noticed that my window pistons on my bow window are not holding anymore I was wondering does anybody know the size replacement Taylor made arms to buy?

I changed the seapumps on my engines (8.1l horizons) and it took a long time for water to start coming out of the ports on the back of the hull and now both engine temps are slightly elevated-165-170 deg, normally they run right at 160. is there a bleeding procedure for this? the Merc. service manual does not show anything on it.
i have the little blue drains on the upper and lower hoses going to the pump. TIA.

Looking to purchase the rear bench/seat that was a factory option for my 33’ Express. Anyone know where I can find one or anyone interested in selling? Tks (haven’t found a new option yet)

No bleeding procedure, the blue drains are for draining, like winterization. Your temps seem normal to me.

You might want to pop off both ends of the heat exchangers and check to see that the tubes are clear of obstructions. I had the rubber seals go bad and some pieces started blocking the water flow. Easy to check.

is the L shaped one on a 34AJ the same? if so i have one i may consider selling. but it will need to be reupholstered.

if you remove the seats the the floor opens up into the radar arch (w/o having to mess with piano hinge). I know gassers can be removed. I assume the Cats would come out too, but not certain.

Just following up on this.
The 3116's will R&R without removing the hatch.
She's back in the water and ready to go.

I’m having water accumulate in the storage compartment under the cabin floor on our 01’ 340 Amberjack. I checked the shower sump and cleaned it out, but it wasn’t bad at all. View attachment 116521 I checked the overflow pan on the A/C unit and there doesn’t seem to be anything accumulating there as well. I even shut off the A/C unit for a week after draining the area, but the water came back. It has a brownish coloration to the water. Any guesses what the issue may be?

I had the same problem when I bought my boat.
It ended up being water leaking in from the Starboard porthole.
Replaced the gasket/screen and haven't had any water in there since
