Official 330 Sundancer Thread

Our boat is lacking an inverter, but we have an 8K generator.
I’m curious to know what type of inverter other people have and where they installed it.

I have a Xantrex and it is installed in the starboard storage bin above the engine room. I do not have a generator and my house 6v x 2 battery bank is right under that spot.

Perhaps this has been covered? What does everyone do about the horrible windshield glare? Is there a cover I could put on the dash to help this? What do others do?

Figured it’s time we get back to the front page. This weekend I officially got all the new LEDs installed in the cockpit.

Also rewired my cabin speakers. The previous owners had cut the leads to them in favor of extra speakers in the cockpit. I installed spade connectors on both ends and now have all the speakers working.

I'm a newb on this forum, so please excuse the fact that this question has been asked probably a hundred times: Would you guys mind sharing or pointing me to page that all of the LED part no.s would be detailed or listed? My "new" 330 has what seem to be original bulbs and I want them ALL LED for obvious reasons. Thanks in advance.

I usually unzip the eisenglass & look out above the windshield.

First off, welcome aboard!

For me, all me vehicles (car, truck, RV and boat) all get bulbs from Super Bright LEDs. Just remember, some LED bulbs are polarity sensitive, so if it doesn't work right off, you may need to flip it around.

Creekwood, thanks for the pic. I think we may end up going a similar route.

We’re going through the same process to update the light fixtures with LEDs. We haven’t found a good solution for the cabin, but these ended up being a great solution for the cockpit lights:

Just ordered 41mm Festoon in warm white for the deck and 20w LED g4's for cabin. Also ordered the stern light above. I am laughing at myself for ordering 2 41mm festoon LED's for the spoiler that has a remote so I can change colors...not for the party, but for redlight at night so I don't lose my vision if it is turned on. Now, what bow lights for the deck is the final step... I will let you know how it goes.

This is my second season with my boat, which is my first boat. I have utilized the information on this site frequently and I thank all of you for the information posted here. Unfortunately, the Sea Ray owner’s manual is not very specific regarding some issues. I have not been able to find a repair manual for boats similar to what you would find for an automobile. That is what makes the information on this site so valuable.

I would like to make a small contribution regarding an issue for which I did not see a specific thread. Hopefully this will save someone else some time.

For anyone wondering where the air conditioner filter (or compressor) is located on a 2008 330 Sundancer, take a look inside the cabinet on the port side in the mid-stateroom (underneath the optional TV). There is a panel with four screws. Take the panel out and you will find the air conditioning compressor. The filter just slides up and out of the compressor. It is a little tricky to get it back in, just make sure that it stays in the grooves on each side as you slide it down.

I replaced my arch lights with red festoon bulbs (not color changing). They don’t attract bugs as much at night and also don’t mess with night vision as much, although I don’t run with them on.

Just did the same. The items arrived today along with deck mount Attwood bow lights.

Quick update on the anchor /windlass issue. So it turns out the previous owner removed the Danforth hinged anchor and installed a non-hinged plough anchor. When the shank came up through the windlass rack, instead of laying down, it simply transferred all energy directly up into the roller body instead of smoothly passing over the roller and laying down, thus bending the rack and pulling the middle screws from the deck. I don't know how I didn't see what had happened. Thankfully, I am friends with the previous owner and he was available to talk it through with me. It is repairable and I do not anticipate any further issues. Thank you for all of your thoughts and suggestions. I think tonight will be the first night we will sleep on "Sleep on It."

And that is exactly what happened. I thought "WTF" then remembered your post. Thanks for that!

Anyone notice a small water stream from your dripless seals? I wipe it dry and have an immediate trickle. The shaft is dry so it must be coming in from the bottom. I ensured the hose clamps were secure.

Hello All,
My Starboard motor likes to quit when hot? I have tried a new coil, ingnitor, ECU Coil and plugs. Still have the issue. It has fuel and no spark. Has anyone tried the after market distributors? I was looking at DUI. Really has me baffled. I haven't tried swapping distributors as I am floating. But that seems to be the only thing left . Any Suggestions re
ally welcome.
My old boat went through this. I replaced distributor cap and solenoid and one of the two solved the issue.

Spent the day installing a pair of lightweight, flexible 100 watt Renogy solar panels, with a controller and 30amp breaker.

I mounted it directly to the bimini (with some sealant on both sides). We’ll see how much power we get out of it. With conservative calculations, it should be more than enough to cover our lights, music and water pump without needing to run the generator while on the hook.

mine came with an inverter, I have controls in my cockpit for it. it took me almost a year to find it. the po didn't know anything about it. its mounted starboard cockpit locker behind the wall where the water hook up is. almost above fuel tank

I have

a blank canvas that is snapped in place it goes across the whole dash

Very interested to see how well you do with power. By the way, where are you from? We want a camper style canvas for our 330 but want to know how much this might cost before we make any decisions.

Windshield wiper blades. Ours are crap and by the looks of things, the wrong ones as they don't stay attached. Who uses what (assuming pantographic arms for all of us)?
