SeaDek (or similar) template for a 1998 330 Sundancer
Anyone have a template for the cockpit and swim platform of a 1998 330 Sundancer? I'm not sure if 97' is the same measurements in the cockpit?

Seriously considering a 1998 330 as our next vessel. However, the wife is NOT a fan of the faux brass knobs on all the cabinets and doors in the cabin. Anyone replaced these with something a little less dated? Any idea who might have some options?

You can get them a few places. They are Hafele brand and you can replace the knobs and trim rings. There is also some other gold trim that can be replaced in other spots. I have not done mine yet but its on the list when I do the flooring.
Searay parts has them. But you can get them other places.

Hi everyone, we are looking to purchase a 330 to replace our 260. We're looking in the 1995-1999 years. Does anyone know of any important updates/changes to the 330 year to year over that timeframe? I've heard rumors that the headroom at the helm is better in the later 90s, but I think that's just wishful thinking on my part.

Head room is the same on the 330. The 370 in 1998 increased the head room. Not sure of any changes. Boats I have looked at are pretty much the same. Although 1997 had MPIs as an option, and became standard in 1998, I think. Good luck with your search.

Yes, very few updates over that period other than the earlier years still had a lot of the late 1980s/early 90s dark color schemes with teal and blue interiors. The later years had 3 big block options Mercruiser 7.4 carb or 7.4 MPI (both about 310hp) and Crusader 7.4s at about 380hp. The crusaders had an issue with the log style mufflers and had water inversion failures. A new canister water/lift muffler fixed the issues. I doubt any still exist but if you find a Crusader version with log mufflers, you should price in an exhaust update.

As the Golfman says, all the 95 to 99 330s had the same arch. There are not many other differences of any substance. Great boat. I have had mine since 2009 and for me, no desire to change at this point.

In 99 they released the 340 based on the same hull (I believe) as the 330 but increased the arch height as well.

That is correct. There are two 1999 versions with the same hull, but different layout. The 1999 340DA was the same to 2002, but had a few difference from the 99 330DA:
- Arch is higher so different canvas too
- Center aligned forward berth instead of angled berth
- No bow pulpit (has a stainless anchor holder)
- Cockpit layout is different. There is no seating on the port side. The helm bench seat is now a captains chair and a two person smaller bench. The rear of the cockpit is the same. The port side is "thinner" but still has a sink and an icemaker or fridge. Maybe a bit less storage than the 330DA??

Thanks everyone for the info. I'd prefer the 340 over the 330, but the budget won't allow it.

Looking for some part numbers here if anyone can help.

I have an issue with my starboard 7.4L where the risers/manifolds are reaching about 200 degrees on the port side bank. Other manifolds / risers are around 90-95 degrees. Engines are raw water cooled. Temp gauge is showing it's pretty normal, I caught it with an IR thermal temp gun. Considering the boat was once salt water - I'm assuming it's a riser / Manifold issue. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.

So... going to have starboard manifolds / risers replaced along with both engines getting a new set of plugs, thermostats, and impellers.

My question -
What part numbers am I after?
-Manifolds / Risers
-Impellers
-thermostats

Looking at NuWave Marine for parts, it shows restricted, full flow, or block off gaskets. Which am I after?

Thanks in advance!

Hello, I'm currently restoring my 98 330. The previous owner removed both battery switches (along with other things) under the seat. I'm looking to place an order for new ones but not sure which ones were installed and the parts manual doesn't say. Can anyone give me an idea? Tia

Hello,

Since we are talking about parts, I am trying to find a replacement refrigerator for our 96 330 Sundancer. I have looked online, but the ones I see are either in a huge back order, or not available anymore. Can anyone share some ideas? Please???

Owned a 1996 330DA, at 6'3" tall I could not stand up at the helm. Headroom in the cabin was fine and I could also sleep with no issues in the kidney bed forward.

Replaced insulation/sound deadening material and seal on the engine hatch.

I used HVAC foil tape to seal the edges of the insulation.

Getting the old glue off was difficult.

Had to do a lot of measuring to get the seal in the right spot. The old seal never landed on the molded lip of the cockpit floor.

Looks nice, did it help with reducing the sound? And do you still have room for watch to go into the channel around the hatch with the rubber seal?

Looking at that engine compartment makes my knees, back, shoulders, elbows and neck hurt again from my 330DA :) Super clean though.

Replaced the head sink, drain, faucet/shower, and shower holder. I did have to get an adapter to go from the drain to the overboard hose(Sorry, don't have a link for that. I think I got it at Home Depot).

The seal is very similar to the original. The original was flattened and did not seal very well. The seal sticks to the underside of the hatch and seals against the lip that is molded in the cockpit floor that goes around the engine compartment. Yes, it did help with reducing noise.

Yep, lots of standing on my head working down there. My back still hurts from the last time I worked down there a couple of weeks ago.
