Official 370 Sundancer thread

I have a '97 370 with a 5kw generator. Has anyone had issues running the FWD AC with no additional loads? Mine seems to shut off after the compressor kicks in. The generator does not stall just the AC won't kick on. Also, the Aft will run fine on the generator. Thanks

Sounds like an ac problem and not a generator problem. Are you getting any errors on the control panel?

On mine,Forward AC panel breaker will not turn on coolant pump ; Aft unit panel breaker must be on for pump to run at all times-

Thanks for replying. No errors and breaker does not trip. AC just shuts down and restarts back up until compressor kicks in and then shuts down again. AFT works fine

Thanks for the reply. Ok..ill have to try this and see if I come up with the same result. I'm also wondering if it has something to do with the auto throttle on the generator.

One other note..the FWD AC works fine on shore power. That's why I think it's the generator as part of the problem.

What is your voltage when running in the generator vs shorepower

Im in the process of selling and here's what the surveyor wrote up. A & B I questioned because the generator had not run in a while. After priming it ran smooth and aft AC worked along with fridge, outlet and cabin load. Just FWD AC would not stay on when running that load alone.
6-- gen-set: A) on gen-set start-stop switches not operational.
B) engine appeared to run sluggish / slow; would stall under no & light (1- air conditioner & batterycharger) load.
C) AC voltage output (via plug in volt meter @ galley outlet): i) low (<110) and erratic.
D) fwd. air conditioner after running for 2/3 minutes would shut-down (did not occur with shorepower source; the aft air conditioner would run until the gen-set stalled out)):
E) observed volt meter @ 100/105; would jump to 120 when fwd. air conditioner’s breaker wasengaged; meter would at times fluctuate 105-120v until the air conditioner compressor would shutdown (breaker did not trip). Check engine’s tune-up (ignition & fuel systems) status and automaticthrottle: Service / adjust as needed.

This was it...thank god something simple. Runs fine with AFT Breaker on and system off. Thank you!!

I guess tapatalk app is no longer working for the forum? Anyone else that uses it having trouble?

I gave up on Tapatalk a couple of years ago. It is a quirky app for me. I had log in issues constantly and issues posting pics.

I just use the website.

OK - Still in the market for a '97 or '98 370 and came up with another question. I was talking with a broker about the height of the arch on a '97 vs '98, and talking about the headroom with the canvas, and he said that pretty much everyone just leaves the top canvas in place when they go out. I'm 6'4 and this would mean that I could never stand up to drive, which seems strange.

For everyone with a '95-'00 or so 370, do you take all the canvas down when you go out on a nice day, or do you just take the side curtains down and leave to top in place as a bimini? How much of a pain is it to do?

I keep the Bimini up and I rarely stand to drive...(6'2" , '95)

Same here. I actually posted about a year ago when we got our 370 after my first couple days out and noticing the headroom issue. But after about a month I don't think I've thought about it since. I just stay seated.

Hey guys,
What should I be paying for new props for my 370? I think I want the oem 18x21 three blade. Has anyone bought new ones lately? I'm planning to get a second set to swap whenever pulling the ones I have to eliminate the downtime.

I replaced mine with Nibral 4 blade 18X20 and they were $1,100.00 each! if you go with Nibral 3 blade, plan on 1K each, I like the 4 blade, out of the hole faster and better maneuverability around the docks.

Regarding the Bimini, I keep mine up and hide from the sun when it gets too hot! I've never taken mine down, looks like way too much work.....when on the boat I like to relax and enjoy the day!!
