Official 370 Sundancer thread

Thanks I will go down this weekend and search around to make sure its not somewhere. Was there a place it was generally stored?

There are two places that filler cushions are most often hidden/stored, based on our exploration trying to find ours when we purchased our 370. First is in the mid cabin under the port side cushions and the second is under the dinette seating. Take the table down and the cushions off and the base slides out for an additional sleeping area (if you can find the filler cushions!).

never mind, After sifting thru 10 pages of search I found it. I am documenting with pics so the next person can have the entry door off in 5 minutes.

Awesome. Are the parts still available to do the fix?

Not original parts. Flounder Pounder Marine, Boat Outfitters have "replacement kits". All trucks now have ball bearings so they are a slightly different size, which means you get to buy the track too. Looking like a kit will be near 300.00
Must be made by Westerbeke. :-(
BOE (the host site for this forum) does not list any parts like this.

@MonacoMike, I just came across your post and I know it's a little bit old but thought I would chime in. I spent 2 years looking at the '95-00 37' Sundancers, before buying a '98 400 Sundancer this spring. My feedback is based on research and looking at boats, not owning this model, so take it as such.

In terms of construction, the '98 was the only model year designed with the higher radar arch. I was told (but did not see) that some of the early 99's might have it as well. Earlier and later years in this generation did not have the higher arch. I'm 6'4, and the higher arch made the difference between standing at the helm and not standing. Depending on your height it may not be a factor, but it significantly narrowed my search.

I'm sure you picked this up from the spec sheets, but the '98 was the first year the fuel injected engines were standard. Fuel injection was available as an option in the '96's and '97's, but that was on a different model engine. People have different feelings about fuel injection, but having owned boats with and without them, I would never buy a gas engine again that isn't fuel injected (my opinion).

This generation Sea Ray had well documented issues with water ingestion, although I think it was confined to the 330's and 310's. Somewhere in my email I have a report from BoatUS on it as part of my research - I'll see if I can locate it. It is worth time to read up on it so you understand it, since it apparently killed a number of engines.

Like many boats of this age I found a HUGE range of conditions in the boats I was looking at, and it wasn't always reflected in the price. You have to go see (and smell) the boat. It's amazing how poorly people take care of their boats, and the broker's listings sometimes flat misrepresent the condition of the boat.

Good luck, and if you find yourself getting 3 foot-itis during the buying process like I did, give me a shout - I'd be happy to show you our 400.

BTW - I also had an '85 Sea Ray Monoco 197. I am two generations removed from it now but that was a great boat for us for a number of years.

OK let's see if you can get to this folder of pics. Each picture's title is the description of what it is. hover over the thumbnail photo filename and the filename will display in its entirety. ordered kit today from Boat Outfitters. A little over 300.00

Does anyone have the originals of the 370 Supplement? I'd like to re-scan it better than what's out there now. Especially the wiring diagrams at the end. Can't read the headers

Need some advice from the professionals. We have an accepted offer on a 1998 370. Had a survey done today and there was moisture found at the corner of one of the small hatches and along grab rails down the center of the bow. In order to service the grab rails it appears you need to remove the headliner in the forward cabin. The ER only had moisture issues between the bulkhead and up to the floor sump, but not serious readings. any feedback......?

Thanks for the input. I just brought home a Cruisers Yachts 3870 this weekend. It has a floorplan the Admiral loves and headroom not found in many other models.

The SR Monaco is just a truly fun boat to own and play with, I've had mine 10 years.

Look back to post 2826 and the Dropbox pics I posted. At least in the salon, the headliner panels are held up with small brackets.
My moisture was from the handrail stanchion on the port side, next to the water fill. Pulling the speaker and the headliner over the shelf if the vee berth gave me plenty of access to the base.
Search back a bit and you’ll find pics of that removal.

I’ll bet you can’t find one 370 that doesn’t have some moisture in the engine room bulkhead. It is not structural. It does have a million holes in it from mounting battery chargers, fire extinguishers, wire looms and so on.

Nice! Congrats! I looked at that model last year. I really liked it. I just bought a 3575 the other week. Very surprised at the room on the Cruisers line.

Thank you very much. I am guessing that with regular maintenance and care of the boat the moisture issue shouldn't escalate.

Does anyone have any idea where to purchase the gasket for the center vent window on a 98 DA
Also the 2 stools..................

I read this entire thread and I know the source for that gasket is here if you search this thread. As for the stools you're gonna have to luck out on eBay I would guess.

Check your owners manual to see if you have the supplement specific to the 370
I attached a badly scanned version which is on Searay.com

Doubt you will find the stools anywhere unless you find a storm damaged boat
Believe they are 18”. Measure to the underside of the salon table minus your thighs. Get creative!
