Official 370 Sundancer thread

I would assume it’s in the same location as the 98, under the settee next to the central vac.

Remove the cushion for the settee and then the back cushion(3 or 4 screws…) once you locate the amp(a truly useless POS)you will see paths to run lines up to the helm or whatever else you want to do!!

good luck.

Thanks a ton! I’ll give it a try! Easy to replace with a newer amp too? Or will it need better power, etc?

Yeah, should be fine. I put in a 2500 watt 5 channel amp and it works great. Tight fit but made it work. Huge huge improvement.

Hi all. New to me 99 370. I replaced the clarion head unit and disc changer with fusion marine. It looks like there may be an AMP installed for the speakers on deck and a sub. I cannot for the life of me, find where it’s installed or how in the world they fished the wiring. I took apart every access hatch I could find and went in the engine compartment. Nothing…. I also want to fish a nmea2000 cable from the helm to the head unit. Any thoughts on where to find this magical amp and to how fish the cable? Thanks In advance. I fancy myself pretty capable but this one seriously has me scratching my head…

Nate, congrats on the boat Sir. Out of curiosity, how did you get the Disc Changer out? We recently picked up a 96 370, so I make note of the year difference but hopeful the location or possible removal of said item is the same. Rigged up a sheet metal piece to get the head unit out just fine but that Disc Changer is a whole other beast. :D.

The amp for mine was same as explained by @Cdillerud. Pull the aft Settee back cushion, remove the panel behind it and it should be there. Again, noting the years of difference in boats, this may be different on yours.

Out of curiosity, our cockpit area backrest cushion next to the wet bar and the arch speaker surrounds are showing some pretty bad wood rot. I considered taking them down, templating some star board and replacing the wood with the star board but not so sure how the end result will be with the vinyl not being stapled into the star board like with the wood. Any recommendations from the group on best practice? I've attached a picture with red arrows pointing to the problem areas.

Thanks in advance!

had to take off the tv mount and the old shelf in that cubby. Got down behind it with a king ratchet and a few bolts. Slide right out.

Anyone have a good link to a tv mount you used on the arch? Did you put a metal bracket behind the fiberglass to stabilize it? Most of the old photos and links are dead. Great thread. Thank you all!

Thanks Nate. I will get back down there this weekend and relook pulling the shelf. Only access I had was via the hole for the head unit but my arm isnt going in there far enough. :D Thanks for the response!!!

I can grab one tomorrow or thurs when I’m down at the boat

Sir, are you looking merely for dimensions or is there something in particular you are looking to obtain? Wondering if I have any of something you need in my small cache of documents.
JJ
Hi
Thanks for responding.
Someone awhile back in 2016 posted an engineering sketch for I believe a 1998 370. It showed complete measurements in regards to the length breaking it down to anchor, anchor chute, swim platform etc. I can not find this on the site anywhere. If you have it please post it for everyone.
Thanks

Oh man, well the closest I have to that is the Owners Manual where it breaks out dimensions below. Hopefully this Snip & Sketch will past below....

Ours was installed before we bought the boat so I honestly could not say. I know @Cdillerud is going to take a look at his, I will take a closer look at mine Friday evening/Saturday as well just to see.

Well, Thank You
That is just what I am looking for.
I really appreciate your efforts.

Are you at Ditto?
Flying in tomorrow for the week
E Dock was my stomping grounds.

:D Thats funny... I've literally been stalking your threads throughout the forum and LEARNING quite a bit. Let me be the 500000th in line to thank you for your continued input to the Sea Ray Life!!!

So we were at Ditto back in 2016. I bought a 32' Bayliner Avanti and had it shipped down from Michigan. We were at H Dock with that one. Sold that boat, picked up a Yamaha 242 Limited S jet boat that we trailered/ kept on RSA. Just sold that boat on a couple of weekends ago and now we have the Sea Ray 370 but we are at Alred Marina down in Guntersville. I saw you were at Ditto then transitioned down to Florida and seemed like there was some back and forth there. Live here in Huntsville so Guntersville is a drive but in true comparison of Marinas and location activity, theres a bit more to do in Guntersville. Any chance you have been to the City Harbor down there? It's recently opened and only a few businesses are open but once that place is fully established it is going to be quite the spot on the water!!!!!

So my B&G Quad transducer stop working, so I'm looking to change the B&G head unit and transducers out. I'm looking at getting the Raymarine i50, however for some reason I cannot figure out which transducer to buy with it that will work in the factory thru hull transducer ports. Maybe I'm just over complicating this but guidance from anyone who has done with would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Bet you sold the Avanti to a certain guy who owns a BBQ restaurant.......
I liked Alred and Goose Pond at the time, but Ditto was 2 miles from the house. I certainly didn't like the flooding, though. If I had another boat there, it would be on the lake.

Guy I sold the Avanti to works on Redstone Arsenal... I dont think he owns any BBQ restaurants... or he may have since sold it. Ditto was a great spot for us (15-20 minute drive) but the flooding was horrible. I went down in 2016/2017 and flew the drone around for them once it had flooded real bad (even across the river was under water) and that pretty bad. H Dock had broken free of 3 or more of its moorings and almost swung over and hit I Dock. Needless to say it was a bit before we could get to the boats again.

Alred is awesome but man.... 45 minute drive and a bit steep on price but they have been super great to us thus far. Was just emailing with Russ this morning looking for maintenance records for the boat we bought and he had them all!!!!

Looks like I am about to officially join the club. Survey went well on 98. Water heater was sitting in a 1/2 in of water. Not sure why -- cracked fitting or pressure relief?

Tachs were a bit goofy, so it was tough to get an accurate reading on WOT. One was 3800 ish, the other 4400 ish. A bit choppy, so tough to trim and get going. Both engines syncd up though. Did about 22 mph at 3200 rpm. I think the boat may be a bit overpropped as it has 4 blades. But couldn't get a number off the props -- looks like it's under the nut. Probably take them off over the winter and have them checked.
