Official 380 Thread

Thanks. I just couldn't see another way to get to the screws that hold the TV in place. Your picture looks great. What size replacement TV is that?

Thanks for the information, but what I can see I will have to pull the fridg. I was unable to open the pictures. How did you get them from Searay?

Michael:

I'm not sure who you are 'speaking' to.

If it's me, you should be able to see the pics in the links in my posts. If you can't, I'm not sure why. I got those instruction sheets from Sea Ray from their customer support. They said that the instructions were for both the 380DA and the 410DA. I don't have the number right know.

I did not replace the galley TV in my 380DA. I did replace the galley TV in my 410DA and I did NOT have to remove my fridge.

I have a 2002 380DA and I used Dom's instructions to remove my TV. I didn't have to remove the refrig. The hard part, is getting the christmas trees to release without breaking.

The 19' Inch Element TV is a perfect fit.

Now I need to replace the one in the master suite....

I'm surprised that you had to remove the fridge.

Below is the instruction sheets that I received directly from the Sea Ray Factory. I hope this helps...

I was unable to open these pictures, but I have sent an email to Sea Ray and asked them for some help in hopes they will send me the same thing. Thanks again.

That's kind of like saying "It hurts when I bend my elbow"......I don't get it.......but your are welcome anyway.

I was unable to open the pictures so I contacted Sea Ray to see if I could get them. I have replaces the one in the Master with a 19" and it looks good. That is what I thought I would use for this one, but wanted to get the old one out to see how it would fit.

The previous owner of my boat put a high end stereo system on board that included some RCA cables from the galley TV to the stereo for a DVD player- I think the installer of that system removed the fridge and added the screws, so my need to remove the fridge is probably unique.

I did contact Sea Ray and they sent instruction with pictures as to how to do it with out removing the fridge and explained why I might need to remove it and also sent instructions as to how to do that. So that will be one of the winter projects.

do you have the tel number or address for the customer service center to get these instructions or do you have the pdf file that you can email me? jim

Jim,
Here is the reply I received from Sea Ray. Hope this will help.

I have attached the pdf files that explain how to remove the television. At times the refrigerator may need to come out. Normally the trim was installed from the top down only. Some times it was necessary to run a screw or two up into the trim from the refrigerator cabinet to hold the trim in place. I hope this information is of assistance. If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact me.

Floor panel removal a simple question? maybe

Removing starboard access floor panel over the generator

Is it necessary to unscrew the rear transom seat pad, before one can get the starboard seat to left up (I am referring to the "U' shaped seating in the rear cockpit area)

Naturally the port panel is no problem. But when I attempt to raise the starboard side seat, the pad on the rear seat is overlapping the bench. It sure looks like it could lead to issues if I have to remove the rear seat. Not removing it, but getting it to line back up to put the screws back in when putting it back.

Any comments

I have some time off coming up next week and I would like to do some bilge cleaning and corrosion preventative painting while I am off.

Thanks

I've taken that seat off a few times, and it's not that bad.
I don't see how you can take the plate off without first unscrewing the cushons. The screws are big and line up easily when you put things back together.

I put the cushons away while working, away from greasy hands.

For simple maintenance work on the generator I leave the seat there and just squeese in and out. But if you are going to clean and paint, you are going to want easily access.

I have pulled that seat out and it was not necessary to undo the back bench. I just plulled the holding pins under back and starboard portions of the seat and pushed up from the bottom of the seat. It does fit tight. Once that is done you should be able to get the the floor panel over the generator with no problem.

How did you attach it?

Replacing the TV in the stateroom is my first project once the boat's back in the water.

Does the 380DA have the cabin TV panel that comes down from above the sink and stove on the port side?

The 380DA has two TV's, one above the refrig/freezer and one on a shelf in the master state room.

I have replaced the 13 inch TV in the main cabin with a Element 19 inch flat screen. Now I want to replace the 13 inch TV in the Master stateroom.

I think there was an option for a third 9" TV in the mid cabin also...or was that just the 410DA....:smt017

True! I don't have one, but yes, it was a option. I forgot about that one. It's just me and Admiral, so 2 TV's work.

There's no cable at the new marina we are going to this Spring, so I'm not sure how much TV I'll be watching....
