Wow that's lousy. Before I went to all the work of finding and replacing the arch I would find a really good fiberglass repair guy and look into repairing the damaged one. It will be a lot of work doing the R&R of the old arch.

Finally started on the Starboard panels and received the new fresh water tank. Pleased with both. Here are a few progress pictures.

Nice looking work on the side panels. Are you re-covering them with vinyl or leaving the starboard exposed? We are having all of our cockpit vinyl redone this winter and I have had to rebuild or repair every backer panel on the boat! Considering these are 28 years old, they were still in very good shape.

Post some pictures of the new vinyl. At this point I am going to leave the panels starboard. I like the look. I may change my mind when I start to redo the vinyl. I want to build an L-shape lounge down the port side and across the transom to the door before I make a move on the Vinyl work.

I took all the panels on my 39 and cut them out in marine plywood. Sanded them coated them in polyurethane after it dried. Sanded them again then spray painted all of them to match the boat gelcoat. I was not going to put the vinyl back, it held to much moister and the painted surface is easier to keep clean.
The boat looks more finished now with out the vinyl.

I only have these three pieces back from the upholstery shop so far, but the shot of the aft backrest gives an idea of the color scheme. aft backrest.jpg port side panel.jpg starboard side panel.jpg

Nice looking work. Might want to look into replacement seat tracks. They are available with levers under the front of the seat and keep the seat more secure as well.

Just completed new flooring today, only thing left to do is trim the hatches, base trim at the perimeter walls and some work at the steps.

I used the Plasteak EZ Boat Sole that is plank flooring approximately 8'' x 48'' pieces that snap together and gets glued down. I ordered 4 boxes that each contain 13 pieces, I will use just about all of it when I complete the steps, I did screw up a couple of pieces along the way but still had enough to finish.

Listening this winter to all that have cut inspection ports in the floors and found water, I decided to do mine today. I cut a 6” hole in the floor just forward of the water tank, one just aft if the bulkhead by the forward bilge pump, in in front of the gennie, and one at the rear of the gennie by the stern bilge pump. Duh out fiberglass in each until I was down to bare hull. I found no signs of water or any discolored foam. If any of you that have done this have any other suggested areas to check please let me know. Do you guess I’m good to go at this point with no evidence of water in these areas? Boat is stored in a stern down attitude.

From your description you have checked all of the areas where most of us have also put access holes, its great that you have found nothing at all most have found some kind of moisture. Just check them once in awhile during the season to see if anything might show up. Congrats on a nice dry boat!

When I repaired my FW tank several years ago, I discovered that the hose on the back of my fridge was draining onto the floor. While the tank was out, I ran a 1/2" pex pipe back to the shower pump box in the hall to take care of that issue.
