Official 390DA Thread

Got it up to St Clair yesterday. Uneventful trip. Yay. I did have to climb out and untie the sun pad. The cover and all was ballooning and it was hard to see forward. Just got it home and that's it. Didn't get anything running or do any testing of anything in the cabin. Plotter, radar, auto pilot engine sync all good. Rear thruster...not working. Crap. Need to do some investigating.
It'll take some practice docking. Backing in. I need to fab or find piling protection. The rub rail is really low at the transom and the pvc pipe doesn't extend down far enough and there's bare pipe that needs a cover.
Thrilled to have it home in Belle Maer. Now to make it mine...

Question for docking. I noticed the boat doesn't respond much at idle (800ish rpm). Can you bump it up to 1000 rpm and drop in and out of gear (forward/reverse) without hurting the trans?
No…. You should be fine at idle or bump it up when in gear

I’m envious of you guys that can keep up with four sticks. I struggle with three.

Our 8.1HOs idle at 650ish, not much need to give any juice, just speeds things up then I loose thinking time. I’d never change gears at anything above idle.

So I brought a retired Mr Coffee maker to the boat yesterday. It's way too big to fit in the cubby to the left of the stove. Have you all found a small one to fit? Or is there a storage space you are using for a larger one that I didn't think of?

We have a single serve keurig that fits perfectly under the microwave in the right cubby.

If she’s not responding or not doing what you want fast enough. You just need to goose that throttle for that side. Get her moving then 650 will work.

I'm going to go play around the back bay of metro next week and get used to what it does and how long it takes to react to inputs. I was used to the little Cobia and that boat was so light it reacted pretty much immediately.

You’ll get it and good idea. I find this boat is wayyyy easier to move around then our 320DA we sold last fall. Bigger props, more torque, and heavier allows me to go slower and not have the wind and current push me around as much. The weight is awesome for momentum.

I have a 380, and you'll find it gets to be second nature to use the throttles to give a little extra push, especially when spinning the boat. I'm at Belle Mare at the end of E row. Where are you?

Now that I actually can be around my boat, I'm now learning about it. Some things I needed help with and once finding out I felt like an idiot.
Anyway, here's today's question. I want to find out how you get to the 110 outlet for the galley TV. I have popped it away from the wall but the TV power cord disappears under the tray that slides out. Does the tray pull out? Or, do I remove the DVD player?
Anyway, looking for help. I want to plug in my Roku Express that way instead of running the cord to the outlet above the sink.

Well, I'll try another question. I found the outlet I asked about above.

I either have a sending unit going bad or the float stuck on the starboard gas tank. How in the world do you access it? I looked for an obvious pie plate. None found. There must be an access point.....correct?

I replaced the cockpit table and fully got around to putting some teak on it. Not bad for a guy who normally not good with staining wood. LOL
