I've kept this pretty quiet as Mo and I have looked into this for some time now.
We have an offer in to buy a "Garage~O~Minium". It's 5 minutes from our house, 10 minutes closer than our existing storage where we keep the boat.

It has power, and a 14' bay door.
We have put an offer in and hope to hear something over the weekend.

The result will be only $75/MO more than our existing outside storage which doesn't have power. No More winterizing

Looks bigger than my apt, when can I move in?

Fingers crossed for you.

Interesting. Do you buy it or lease it? Do you own the land under it? The ones around here are all rentals. What kind of sqf are we talking about?

ps: Hopeing the deal works out.

I would own 1 unit of the 20. Like a condo. It has 14' doors, it's 40'D x 12' w, has power. Cement floors.

Hey, that's even big enough to get MY boat in there! When can I borrow it?

When you say "No More winterizing " are the units heated or are you going to use a bilge heater?

I'd have electricity so I can have power for a bilge heater or other heater if I want.

Then I'll know about it and go check it out. I live 5 minutes from there.

Theres nothing like indoor storage for your boat. The 2 previous winters, ive had my boat inside and its just awesome. This year, im having to store the new 320 ourdoors and the thought of it makes me cringe. Even without heat, its so much easier. I hope the deal goes through for you! Good luck!

Mike

Good luck on a good deal. Hope the best for you.

Todd, that will be good. My boat is kept under cover and It is great to tinker around on the boat on a rainy day !

Good luck, Todd. I’m jealous.

It took me forever to find a storage to store my boat (due to the height of the arch) but I wouldn't do it any other way. I pay $300 p/quarter but it's worth it; can't imagine leaving her outside during the winter months.

These are mid $30s + $60/yr garageowners dues. I'll have power which I'm really excited about. These are simply Garages, no water, no sewer, 3 walls 14' high roll up door, cement floor and power.
I currently pay a RV/Boat storage yard $130/Mo, with no power but its' covered and a secure yard.
This payment will be around $200/mo.

Looks like a sweet idea. Like others have said, the ones in my area are all rentals and most don't have power.
We store in a barn and it is soooo much better than leaving her outside.
Look at the bright side, you can putter and modify all winter!

Hope things work out for you! Keep us posted.

Do you trail your boat during the season, or would you store the boat here only for the winter months? Can you expect appreciation on something like this? ie: if you move up to that 48DB and need to sell it, will you make any capital gains?

I trailer all year. Currently I have it at the storage yard I mentioned a couple posts ago. It's there all year around now. It's 10-15 minutes away from home. I bring it home, get it ready and we head out to the launch. After we're done, I bring it home, flush it, clean it and take it back to the storage yard.

This garage is 5 minutes from home, making it easier to go get and put away, but with power I can work on it there instead of having to bring it home. I'll have space to build storage cabinets, put a Man Cave fridge there, stereo, yada, yada. Lots of benefits.

Todd,
Thanks for the info. Being a Realtor it is always interesting to hear about real estate in other parts of the country. Good luck on your deal, keep us posted.
