So I have been searching the internet and forums on how to convert my 01 340 from using the rubber insert to connect the canvas to the windshield to using snaps instead.

I keep reading about using Vadney clips and ended up purchasing some which once I received found out that they are too long and do not work for this style of windshield.

I saw some posts on the net that someone had inserts machined for them but I would think there would already be a fix out there that I'm missing.

Does anyone on here have an answer to this? I didn't really wanna drill into the metal but if thats my only option then I'll explore that further.

Thanks! :smt100

When I had my canvas replaced, they used an insert in the track that the rubber used to slip into. It appears they snapped into the track They are not drilled in. I will look this weekend and update you with a pic. In the mean time they look something like this. http://www.sailrite.com/Windshield-Clip-7-8-Key-K There appears to be two sizes. I think this is exactly what you are looking for.

My canvas shop also used clips with snaps on them to replace the old style. They are definitely available.

Thanks! I keep looking for the inserts like the vadney clips. Those clips on sail rite aren't that expensive, I'll get some of those and see if they fit.

Thanks!

i didn't realize the window snaps did not come from the factory on a 2001 340DA since my boat already had the snaps when I bought it....just lucky I guess...the PO must of had them installed....I had those rubber tracks on another boat and absolutely hated them....
